Kevin Frame, Kevin Brzozowski, Ramlal Basdeo, Sharaz Moad and Colin Downie will all have to fire another bullet to progress to Day 2 of the Mini Main Event.

Craig Combe opened to 6,000 from middle position, before Carlos Luzon three-bet jammed for 55,000 from the next seat.

Daniel Curry was in the big blind, and after some thought, he cold four-bet jammed for around 90,000, forcing Combe to fold.

Etheridge called, and the 3♣ hit on the turn. Dobrijevic fired again with a bet of 30,000, which failed to shake off his opponent.

On the 3♠ river, Dobrijevic triple-barreled with a bet of 35,000. Etheridge said “I don’t think I can fold”, and paid the bill.

Dobrijevic tabled A♠J♣ for top pair top kicker, and he had pipped Etheridge’s Q♠J♥.

The K♠ river completed the board, and Mullen check-called a bet of 12,000 from Staples.

Tresa folded, but Hadden called to see the 9♦8♦3♣ flop. Woods fired out a bet of 14,000, and Hadden took quite a bit of time for thought before calling.

The K♦ rolled off on the turn, and Hadden folded in the face of a jam of 37,800 from Woods.

There was no action there either, and on the J♥ river, Zhen led out with a bet of 3,400, which failed to dispose of Meister.

On the 10♠ turn, Scott checked to Moad, who slid out a bet of 12,000, forcing folds from both of his opponents.

Ishbel Leddy was sweeping in a full double-up, after waking up with pocket rockets versus her opponent’s pocket kings. The stacks made their way into the middle preflop, and Leddy flopped a set, rendering her opponent’s turned set irrelevant.

Leddy had apparently picked up pocket queens in the previous hand, hitting another set to bust her opponent, and has in excess of three starting stacks already.

Ramlal Basdeo opened to 400 under the gun, and received a call from Douglas McVey in the next seat.

Alex Gillies produced a three-bet to 1,700 next along, before Omid Nikjeh cold-called in the cutoff. Basdeo and McVey both called to make it four-way to the flop in a three-bet pot.

The 8♣5♦4♣ flop was checked to Gillies, who fired out a bet of 2,500. Nikjeh folded, but both Basdeo and McVey called.

The J♥ hit on the turn, and was checked through to the Q♣ river, where action was checked to Gillies.

Gillies slid out a bet of 6,000, which only Basdeo called. Gillies confidently tabled J♣J♠ for a turned set of jacks, but was shocked to see Basdeo had Q♥Q♠ for a rivered set of queens.

The PartyPoker Tour crowned its latest Main Event champion just three weeks ago, as Daniel Smith of Wales turned a free online satellite ticket into a £22,500 payday in London. Now, the latest opportunity for players to etch their name into PartyPoker history has arrived, with the tour descending on the Alea Casino in Glasgow from 3-9 August for its sixth stop of 2026.

With the city fresh off hosting a hugely successful Commonwealth Games, attention turns from the pool and track to the tables. It is the second time the tour has been hosted by the stunning venue on the banks of the River Clyde.

Last year, Zhen Zhen battled to Main Event glory, overcoming a 256-entry field to bank £22,500 after slaying a tough final table comprising David Lappin, PartyPoker Tour ambassador Jaime Staples, Kevin Frame and Dean Lyall. Zhen remains the only female winner of the £100,000 guaranteed flagship event in tour history.

The festivities kick off with the ever-popular £150 buy-in, £50,000 guaranteed Mini Main Event, with Day 1a scheduled for 5 p.m. today, August 3.

Christian Watt is the defending champion, after he claimed the trophy and £10,260 first-place prize in 2025, outlasting a field of 468 entries.

In the first of four starting flights for the three-day event, players will sit down to a 40,000 starting stack, with the clock set to 30-minute levels. Late registration remains open until the start of Level 10, and 15% of the field qualify for Day 2.

Day 1c and Day 1d follow the same structure as previous flights, but with 20 and 15-minute blinds in play respectively.

Day 2 qualifiers will return at 4 p.m. on August 5 in the money, and play will continue until the final table is set, scheduled for 4 p.m. on August 6.

As always, there is a packed schedule of side events for players to enjoy, set out below, with plenty of mixed games offerings on the menu, while the £250 PLO Masters, £1,000 7-Max High Roller, and £250 Mystery Bounty comprise the main side events.
