2026 Summer Super Stack – Event #6: $180 NLH Team

It was a bit of a heads-up battle after a fairly quick run through the money spots in the Team game tonight. Most of this endgame happened while I was finishing up the Enemt #3 Day 2 details, so I only caught heads-up.

Team Brassard (Trevor & Nancy, who only played this game because they were on their way from Lethbridge to Edmonton for the AC/DC concert tomorrow night) started the final phase in a big way, when Trevor pushed Jo Teliani off a pair of sevens just before the break.

Nancy came back to a lead of 1.32 million to 580k, and she had Weston Pring down to about 200k after a hand where her spades capped a pair of jacks for Pring. Pring doubled back with ace-jack over ace-nine, then doubled to the lead when the reversal came.

Nancy shoved with ace-jack, and Pring called off with ace-nine. This time, however, Pring found two nines on the flop to take it down. That gave Pring the lead, but after they switched partners again, Teliani shoved a queen, and Trevor called off his stack with a suited ten-six, hitting the ten on the river to survive.

that left Teliani short, but she clawed some chips back before the final confrontation.

After another team swicth, it was Pring who tank-called it off for a race with ace-seven suited against fives. The fives held, and the Brassards have a slightly bigger beverage budget for AC/DC.

Jo Teliani shoved and Trevor Brassard called it off with less. It looked like it might be over with Teliani on queen-six, against a suited ten-six for Brassard.

The 9♦2♠J♣2♣10♦ board ran clean for Teliani until the river sent the double to Brassard.

Weston Pring raised to 75k, then faced a snap-shove from Nancy Brassard. He hit the tank and talked it over with teammate Nu Teliani. He was leaning towards a fold, but Teliani pushed him to the call.

It was a reverse of the previous hand, with Pring on ace-nine and Brassard on ace-jack. He hit two nines this time, to give Pring the double, and Team Pring/Teliani now has a small lead.

Team Pring/Nuliani dropped to 230k after a hand that started pretty slowly, and ended with a bang. They limped in and checked to the turn on K♠10♥7♠J♠.

On the turn, Nancy Brassard check-called for 40k, and when the 4th spade came on the 10♠ river, she check-called again for 175k. She had nine-deuce of spades for the flush, while Weston Pring was on a jack.

In the next hand, Pring doubled back with ace-jack over ace-nine, hitting a jack for insurance.

Trevor Brassard raised to 200k preflop, and after some time in the tank, Jo Teliani called. The flop was 7♣7♥10♠, and after a check from Teliani, Brassard shoved. The stacks looked pretty equal, but Brassard had a bit more, and after a long tank (and not a lot of help from teammate Weston Pring), she folded pocket sevens face up. Brassard showed a king as he pulled in the pot.

Team Brassard now has a bit more than a 2:1 advantage (1.32m to 580k), and when they return from the break, it will be Pring facing down against Nancy Brassard.

The money went in preflop between Seung Lee + Hee Lee & Nancy & Trevor Brassard, but it would have gone in on the flop regardless. Team Lee was on pocket threes versus pocket sixes for Team Brassard. Both hands flopped a set, and though Team Lee called for the case three, it never came.

Weston Pring/Jo Teliani & Nancy & Trevor Brassard are now heads up, with roughly equal stacks of about 40BB each.

The Team game is now three from the money with 8 teams remaining. I’ll grab pictures for the final five teams once they get into the money. Full prizes are posted under the Payouts tab, but they are battling for a 1st-place prize of more than $4,500.

After a chat with API boss Weston Pring, I’ve confirmed that this is officially a $360/Team event by the API standards, so points will be awarded as per all previous Team events, with a field of 38 teams and paid teams splitting the API points between them.

Pring (the current overall API leader for 2026), along with teammate Jo Teliani (who is leading the Top Female category), are still deep in the game, playing to pad their API leads.

The prizes are in, with 5 places paid later tonight. The top team is set to get $4,590 for the win.

Entries are closed for the Team event, with 76 entries in the kitty. That puts the prizes at $11,191.

18 teams remain in action now, fighting for 5 paid spots later tonight. The prizes aren’t posted yet, but I’ll get them as soon as I see them.

Just over an hour remains in entries for the Team game, with the field now at 58 entries. That puts the prizes over $8.5,and I’d expect at least another 10 entries before the desk shuts down for the night. If they hit 70 entries with 12 more, the prizes will be more than $10k.

The team game is now over 50 individual entries, with about 5 minutes to play in Level 6. Entries are still open for about 90 minutes, so there’s a good chance this game could cap 70 entries.

The Team game is taking their first break of the day, with Level 5 now complete. The field is at 45 entries as they head out for the 15-minute break, and they’ll return for 5 more levels of poker with entries open.

About 5 minutes remain in Level 4, and the Team field is up to 38 individual entries. Players are playing their own stacks during the entry period (though teams had to be set before the first buy-ins from the team members), with the preset teams combining stacks and alternating levels once entries close at the start of Level 11.

Level 1 is about half complete, with 25 entries on the board. Those are individual entry numbers, as teammates are playing their own stacks through the entry period. Once the field combines after entries close, we’ll have a better idea of the number of teams in action.

Event #6: $180 Team ($155 + $25)

The Saturday night side game is the Team event. Teams consist of two players, with each player buying in for $180. They each get 25k in chips, and play individual stacks through the end of entries. Once entries are over, the team stacks are combined, and players alternate levels for the rest of the night.

Teams must be set before the first buy-ins, and teammates will not play on the same table while entries are open. That will likely mean short-handed play as the teams are forcibly separated to start.

The levels are 20 minutes long throughout the event, with 10 levels to enter or rebuy. Each team member can rebuy as often as needed before Level 11. 7% of the field will get paid in this one, as opposed to the usual 10%.

I’m not sure how much coverage this game will get, as it will run alongside what is promised to be a massive Day 1c for Event #3. I’ll catch the end of game action if possible, at least.
