Event #47 $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi Lo 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud Hi Lo 8 or Better is the longest name of any bracelet event at the 2025 World Series of Poker. But that made no difference to Benny Glaser, who after a week of busting early from everything he played, once again returned to near the top of the chip counts. His 189,500 was the 15th biggest stack at the end of Day 1, the largest of the 12 UK players who made it through the day. Robert Price, 3,000 chips behind Benny had the second biggest of these.
Both Glaser and Price made it to the end of Day 2, along with Robert Wells. Glaser sits on 1.155m lying in 6th place overnight, with Price two places back on 930k. Wells is 21st with 320k, and they will all have their eyes on a seat at the final table and a shot at the $244,674 first prize. Three other players from the UK, Steve Jelinek (55th for $5,259), Stuart Rutter (60th for $5,008) and Suketu Patel (62nd for $5,008) also cashed in the event.
Robert Price is a member of the Blondepoker community forum and has been posting updates on his trip there and on Twitter (yes, Twitter, always has been, always will be). He scooped the first hand he played in the day and hoped it was a sign of things to come.
For the rest of the day (at least) it did turn out to be a good omen and within 45 mins he was amongst the chip leaders, climbing to 4th within a couple of hours of play. Price then faced a small setback, but went on a tear near the bubble to climb back up the chip chart, as high as second place. Tony Kendall noted in his diary on Blondepoker that as Rob has such an aggressive style, that he’s never far away from either doubling or busting.
Indeed the rest of the day was a bit up and down for Price, but it was a gentle rollercoaster ride and he finished on a high, back in the top 10. Will Benny bag his 3rd bracelet of the series so far, or will the animal that Price is rise up and steal the show?

Danny Grogan posted the biggest stack (2.88m) of 21 Brits left on Day 3 of Event #37 $500 Monster Stack. Ludovic Geilich is just behind in 12th (2.75m) and another Scottish player, Steven Frew was the next highest with just under 2m.
By the end of the third day, with just 54 of the 9,920 entries still in, four British players were still in with a shot of the bracelet. Neither Danny Grogan (154th) nor Ludovic Geilich (345th) made it to this stage. The biggest stack of these is Steven Frew, in 12th place overall with 12.5m, with Ryan Plant in 14th with 12m.
One of the UK’s most fearless poker players, Ali Mallu, is also still in, with an average stack of 9.2m. That will be some rail if he makes the final table. He’s known to play any two cards (very well, it must be said) and when people get busted by him, it’s known as getting Mallu’d.
The shortest-stacked of the four is Antonius Samuel, with 3m. They are all guaranteed at least $23,151, but that would be a mere consolation prize, considering the winner will pocket over $1.2m!
If you’re not familiar with Ali Mallu, here’s an example of him in action from the GUKPT in 2023, courtesy of Grosvenor Poker.
First Event with No UK Cashers
Chidwick, Heath and Matthew Beltcher were the only three Britons who entered on Day 1 of Event #46 $250,000 Super High Roller. Both Stephen Chidwick and Ben Heath progressed to Day 2, but neither made it to the money.
This is now the first bracelet event at the 2025 WSOP in which no players from the UK cashed. In cricket terms, Team GB is now 44 for 1.
Other Bracelet Events
Event #40 $10,000 Big O Championship
Edward Jackson Spivack was the only British pokerist to make it to the third day, lying in 14th place with a 770k chip stack. He eventually finished in 9th, just missing out on a seat on the final table, collecting $57,008.
Edward wasn’t the only Brit to cash though, as Patrick Leonard took 52nd ($20,049) for his umpteenth cash of the series, although he’s still searching for a really deep run/final table. Surely it can’t be long for one of the most accomplished tournament players in the world?
Event #45 $500 Salute to Warriors
Only nine UK players made it through to Day 2 and none of them got beyond the second day, with Benedict Cullen going closest, exiting in 37th for $4,850. The event has a charity element, with $40 of every buy-in donated to US military veteran charities. Ben Collins from the UK was last year’s bracelet winner.
