2026 Summer Super Stack – Event #14: $1,500 Superstack NLH

Pav Braich was flopping gold tonight. Jo Teliani had the lead for much of heads-up, but Braich started hitting flops hard late in the game. His run to the win started when he flopped quad eights against an ace for Teliani, and then he flopped the nut straight a bit later to double to the lead.

Teliani fought back with a double of her own, flopping a pair and turning two with queen-nine against the suited king-ten for Braich. Teliani was still short, however, and when she found a suited queen, her stack went in. Braich had ace-seven and flopped the ace. Teliani turned her queen, but it wasn’t enough when the river bricked.

This was Braich’s 3rd Main Event win in less than a year, after taking down the final PPT Main of 2025 and the first PPT Main of 2026, so he certainly knows how to play the Main. Teliani, for her part, has only been playing poker for 3 years, but has very quickly developed into one of the top players in the local scene, and she is currently leading the women in the Alberta Poker Index Player of the Year race.

Jo Teliani was on fumes after Braich flopped the straight on her, but she doubled back when the money went in with Teliani on Q♦9♥ against King-ten of clubs. Teliani flopped a pair and turned two on 7♥5♦9♦Q♣8♥ to double up from 500k.

Pav Braich is finding nice flops heads up. He just scored a double after flopping the joint. Jo Teliani raised to 260k, and Braich called.

The flop was 9♥10♣7♥ and the money went in when Braich check-raised from 500k to 1 million, then snapped it off when Teliani shoved. Teliani hit the ten with 10♠4♠ but Braich had J♦8♥ for the nut straight, and a backdoor heart draw. Q♣3♠ on the runout didn’t change it, and Braich doubled 4.81 million to the lead.

Jo Teliani is leading the way by about 2:1, but Pav Braich isn’t giving in. He doubled near the end of the last level with pocket eights against an ace for Teliani, and flopped quads to crush the double.

Julius Roque shoved king-jack of clubs against pocket fives for Pav Braich. The fives held on 7♠7♥4♣8♦2♦.

Jim Harnden got his money in with a suited king-jack, but ran into ace-eight for Pav Braich. Braich hit two pair on the 6♣A♥3♦8♠4♦ and Harnden was out in 4th.

Julius Roque raised to 575k under the gun, then called when Jim Harnden shoved the big blind. Roque was on eights against A♣9♣ and Roque rivered the straight on 4♥J♠10♠9♠7♥.

Action will be moving to the poker room within the next 15 minutes.

Jim Harnden shoved the button for 640k, and after a count, Pav Braich called from the big blind. Braich was marginally ahead with ace-five of hearts against jack-nine of clubs for Harnden. Harnden flopped a gutshot, then turned his nine and held on K♣10♦6♦9♠5♠.

Pav Braich raised to 160k before Jo Teliani reraised to 600k. Jom Harnden shoved the small blind for 835k, forcing Braich out, but Teliani snapped it off.

She was looking for an ace with ace-queen against kings for Harnden. She hit her ace on the flop, but Harnden survived with a king on the river of A♥4♦10♦Q♥K♠.

Jo Teliani is leading the final four, with about half the chips in play. She’s playing around 6 million right now, with the other 6 million divided between the other three players. About 20 minutes remain in Level 27, and the game will be moving to poker at the break, or partway through Level 28.

Jo Teliani raised to 200k under the gun, and Pav Braich called the big blind. Braich check-called for 200k on the 8♠3♣3♥ flop, and they both checked the 2♣ turn.

Braich fired 500k at the 10♠ river, and after some time in the tank, Teliani called. Braich showed Q♠6♦ for queen high, and Teliani excitedly showed A♣4♠ for ace high and the win.

Earlier in the night, she said, “Hero calls are my favorite”.

Amarjot Brar raised to 150k, then shoved for 1.42 million when Jo Teliani raised to 400k. Teliani tanked for a bit, but called off with more playing ace-queen for a race against sevens. Teliani rivered her queen on 4♣J♥J♣J♠Q♠.

Jim Harnden raised to 150k from the small blind, and Julius Roque called the big. They checked to the river on A♥9♣4♥8♦10♣, where Harnden led for 100k. Roque min-clicked to 200k, and Harnden called, showing jacks after Roque showed 10♥9♠ for two pair on the river.

Jim Harnder raised the button to 125k, and both Sam Gottiparthi & Julius Roque called from the blinds. It checked to Harnden on the K♠5♣9♦ flop, and he bet 125k. Gaottiparthi shoved for 520k, forcing Roque to fold.

Harnden hit the tank for about a minute before making the call. His K♥Q♠ was good against Gottiparthi’s 9♥7♥, and Harnden tripped up on the K♦A♠ runout.

Final Five COunts

Willie Hernandez shoved pocket tens, but Jim Harnden woke up with pocket aces, and hit a set of aces on the river for insurance.

Jo Teliani raised to 125k early, and Julius Roque called from the big blind. He check-raised from 100k to 275k on the 8♠K♥7♦ flop.

Teliani called, and they checked it down through the 2♠8♦ runout. Teliani showed pocket tens and Roque mucked.

Amarjot Brar raised the cutoff to 85k, and Jo Teliani called from the button. Brar bet 50k on the K♣5♣4♠ flop and Teliani called to the 4♦ turn. Brar check-folded the turn to a bet of 150k.

Jim Harnden raised the cutoff to 80k, and Julius Roque called from the small blind, as did Pav Braich from the button. It checked to Harnden on the 4♥7♣3♥ flop, who bet 150k and both players called.

Roque led for 200k on the 9♥ turn. Braich called, while Harnden mucked his hand. Roque checked on the 3♠ paired river before Braich bet 650k. Roque tanked for about a minute before mucking his hand, telling the table he had a “baby flush.”

They are down to 7 remaining in Main after Jarret Gray busted for 8th place while I was writing the previous hand.

Same Gottiparthi shoved the small blind, and Julius Roque called from the big. Gottiparthi was pipped with ace-jack into ace-queen, and Roque went to Broadway on A♦K♣4♥10♥J♦ for the double up from 5325k.

Pav Braich has the lead after his flush-over-flush hand that sent Nick Peterson out in 9th place. He has 2.36 million, while Jo Teliani is nipping at his heels with 2.295 million. Jim Harnden is 3rd with just shy of 2 million after the hand against Willie Hernandez.

Pav Braich just scored a big double when he flopped the nut flush against Nicholas Peterson, who was on the queen-high flush. Peterson was left on fumes and busted the next hand.

I picked up the action on the river with the board reading 9♠7♥9♣3♠7♦. Willie Hernandez checked, then hit the tank when Jim Harnden shoved a covering stack.

Hernandez eventually called with pocket tens, while Harnden showed K♠8♠ for the busted flush draw.

Nicholas Peterson raised the middle to 60k, and Sam Gottiparthi called from the hijack, and Pav Braich called from the button. Peterson fired 80k on the J♠4♦2♦ flop, and Gottiparthi was the only caller to the 7♣ turn.

Peterson check-raised from 90k to 350k on the turn, and Gottiparthi got out of the way.

Dave S hit the rail for 10th place immediately after the hand.

Julius Roque shoved under the gun for 235k, and Dave S called from the button. Roque was in good shape with ace-king over ace-queen, and the 9♣9♥10♥6♠9♦ board left the ace-king in front, and Roque is up over 500k.

Stacey Doering bubbled the final table tonight. The final ten are now seated for the endgame.

Jarret Gray was on fumes, with about 5 big blinds, but after two quick doubles, he’s up to about 600k now. Both doubles came courtesy of Jim Harnden. In the first hand, he hit an eight with ace-eight to get a double, then shoved aces from the button, and held against king-queen of clubs for Harnden.

The field is down to 13 now after Drew Ducsharm, Dylan Payne, and Bill Robins busted after dinner. Ducsharm tangled with Jim Harnden, raising preflop to 75k. Harnden called from the big blind, then check-called for 75k on the 7♥10♣A♥ flop.

Harnden checked again on the Q♦ turn, but opted for the check-raise after Ducsharm bet 125k, making it 275k to go. Ducsharm shoved, and Harnden snapped it off with Broadway, playing king-jack. Ducsharm has ace-jack, and the river bricked for him.

This is Siginc’s first buy-in of the series, but he’s been busy elsewhere lately, picking up three wins at Seminole Hard Rock before coming back home to Deerfoot for the Main.

The Main Event is in the money with 29 players remaining now. They are just moments from the next break, and all remaining players are guaranteed some sort of payout today.

The Main Event is on the bubble with 30 players remaining and 29 paid spots. The clock was paused with 5:40 remaining in Level 19, and they’ve played a couple of hands in hand-for-hand now.

Sam Gottiparthi raised to 24k from the small blind, then called it off with more when Chris Hodgins shoved the big blind. Hodgins had A♥10♣ against K♣6♠ for Gottiparthi, and Hodgins turned his ten on the 7♣Q♦9♣10♥4♠ runout.

Event #14: $1,500 Super Stack (Main) ($1,350 + $150) Day 2

Day 2 of the Main Event is set with 55 players returning (from a total field of 294) to fight for 29 paid spots. The total prizes are more than $377k, and the top 8 players will get five figures for their troubles, with more than $82k up top for the winner.

The Day 2 action gets going at noon, and they’ll play to a winner. Players should prepare for a very long day, with play almost certainly going well past midnight. Blinds are 60 minutes on Day 2, with play starting at the beginning of Level 16 (3k/6k/6k(. That puts the average stack to start the day at about 36 big blinds

Mehmet Siginc is the chip leader for Day 2 after he bagged 486k on Day 1b, with Daniel Lefebvre (1b) on 463k and James Hrnden (1a leader) on 462k. Sam Gottiparthi and Jo Teliani also bagged 400k or more.

The Main Event is on the bubble with 30 players remaining and 29 paid spots. The clock was paused with 5:40 remaining in Level 19, and they’ve played a couple of hands in hand-for-hand now.

Sam Gottiparthi raised to 24k from the small blind, then called it off with more when Chris Hodgins shoved the big blind. Hodgins had A♥10♣ against K♣6♠ for Gottiparthi, and Hodgins turned his ten on the 7♣Q♦9♣10♥4♠ runout.

They are nearing the money in the Main Event now, with 34 players left. Level 18 is nearly complete, with a full level to play until the bext break. The pace has slowed a bit since the last break, with only two players exiting in Level 18 so far.

The Main Event is down to the final four tables with 36 players left. That puts them 7 off the money spots with about 20 minutes to play in Level 18.

As players sit down for Level 18, Jim Harnden, who bagged the big stack in Day 1a, has chipped up to about 1.1 million so far today, and is the only player with a full stack of green 25k chips in front of him.

Day 2 of the Main Event is on the first break of the day, and they’ve gone through 18 players already, but they are still 8 players off the money, with 37 players remaining, and 29 paid spots.

Event #14: $1,500 Super Stack (Main) ($1,350 + $150) Day 2

Day 2 of the Main Event is set with 55 players returning (from a total field of 294) to fight for 29 paid spots. The total prizes are more than $377k, and the top 8 players will get five figures for their troubles, with more than $82k up top for the winner.

The Day 2 action gets going at noon, and they’ll play to a winner. Players should prepare for a very long day, with play almost certainly going well past midnight. Blinds are 60 minutes on Day 2, with play starting at the beginning of Level 16 (3k/6k/6k(. That puts the average stack to start the day at about 36 big blinds

Mehmet Siginc is the chip leader for Day 2 after he bagged 486k on Day 1b, with Daniel Lefebvre (1b) on 463k and James Hrnden (1a leader) on 462k. Sam Gottiparthi and Jo Teliani also bagged 400k or more.
