With 10 events in the books, the total prizes for the 2026 Summer Super Stack at Deerfoot Inn & Casino are closing in on $400k. Monday action saw the HORSE game as the main draw, with a $230 NLH side game later in the evening.
The HORSE game, which is always a relatively small field due to the niche formats in the rotation, drew 44 entries for prizes of $14,839. The side game turned into the biggest one-day field of the series so far, with 136 entries for prizes of $26,486.
That puts the combined entries across the whole series so far at nearly 1,500, with prizes over $375k. With both of the biggest multi-flight games yet to come, those prizes will easily push toward $1 million or more by the time the series is over Sunday night.

Monday was mixed-game day at the Summer Super Stack, with the HORSE game as the main game for the day. Players got on the HORSE at 2 PM, and by the time entries closed, the niche event drew 44 entries for prizes of nearly $15k.
Most of the HORSE game proceeded at a slow trot until they hit the money, when the game broke into a heavy gallop. It took them almost 10 hours to play down to the 4 money spots, but once they got there, the game was over in less than 30 minutes.
Gavin Lee was the first to drop in the money, followed by Al Hahn. That left Remy Bhend heads-up against Sebastian Lampreau, with Bhend in the lead.
Heads-up lasted two hands of Stud8. Bhend took Lampreau nearly down to the felt when his queens held with no low to scoop a pot, then Lampreau was all-in on third street after he brought in, Bhend bet, and Lampreau reraised all in. They both hit a pair, but Lampreau’s sixes were no match for the cowboys of Bhend, and with no low again, Bhend took the game down.
Bhend has a penchant for mixed games. In January of this year, he won the TORSE ring, and he’s been deep in nearly every rotational mixed game held at Deerfoot in the last few years.

Somers Takes Down $230 NLH Over Sharma Time!

The $230 NLH game turned into the biggest one-day game of the series so far, with 136 entries, for prizes of $26,486. That meant 14 players were sharing in the prizes, with the top spot set just shy of $7k.
While the structure was a bit of a turbo game, it played a bit slower than expected. They were still 7-handed when the action moved to the poker room at 3 AM, but they were quickly down to heads-up within about 30 minutes.
That was mostly due to runner-up DJ Sharma, who went on a run once they moved to poker, knocking out all the remaining players until winner Maru Somers sent Ramaz Haymour to the rail in 3rd place. While Sharma was his usual boisterous self throughout the night, Somers played a quieter game, generally letting her chips do the talking for her.
In one example before the move to poker, while they were still playing two tables, Sharma was under the gun and announced that he was “Going after Maru’s big blind”. He raised, and she called preflop, but when the flop came six-seven-king, Somers check-shoved on Sharma, forcing the Sharma Time fold.
Interestingly, while I was taking the final table photos, Sharma and Somers posed together for a shot, previewing the later heads-up battle between the two. And it was a bit of a battle, lasting nearly an hour before Somers finally took it down around 4:30 AM when her eights held to win a race against ace-nine for Sharma. That was a near-repeat of a hand shortly before when Somers cracked Sharma’s eights with ace-jack to take the lead.
