The stacks are in, and the runner-up from April in this game, Phil Clingo, leads in chips after 1b. He bagged 600k, and that also puts him in front of 1a leader Mike Malm. Jarret Gray, who was 3rd in the $230 PLO on Opening Day, bagged the second-place 1b stack with 434k. Full 1b stacks below.

It came down to a race at the end, and the ace-queen of Phil Clingo won the race against pocket eights to finally bring Day 1b to a close. Clingo turned the ace, but still had to fade a spade to take the hand down. I’ll update the chips for the final 16 shortly, but I’m pretty sure Clingo is the leader.

The clock just ticked over into Level 18 after the most recent hand, and they are still playing on the bubble with 17 players remaining.

About half of Level 17 is now complete, and they are still hand-for-hand on the bag bubble.

The 1b players are on a break following Level 16, while the tournament staff colours up the 500s. It looks like he might start this Day 2 in a bit better spot, but there’s still poker to play before Day 1b is complete.

When the money was in and the hands revealed, Dave was in rough shape against aces for Issa, but he turned a spade draw with his ace-seven of spades, then rivered trip sevens to double and survive.
