The chunky sum of £16,250 awaits the winner, while all 105 Day 2 qualifiers have secured a £300 minimum cash. A spot at the final table will lock up a £1,160 payday.

Day 1d is still yet to conclude, and details of the qualifiers from that flight, and the Day 2 seat draw, will follow as soon as possible.

The £100 PLO Masters NLH/PLO split tournament is underway, with 40 players registered thus far.

Late registration is open until the start of Level 9, and players sit down to a 20,000 starting stack.

The Alea Casino in Glasgow was packed to the rafters on August 4, as players attempted to secure their place in Day 2 of the Mini Main Event, with two starting flights taking place.

With the final starting flight just underway, at present a total of 84 players have qualified from 562 entries, with Day 2 scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. on August 5.

The final figures will be a record-breaker for a Mini Main Event in Glasgow, with the tallies reflecting an almost 40% increase in attendance on 2025.

They are led by David Doherty (908,000), who holds a decent lead over former Irish Open final tablist Mark Johnstone (787,000) and Brian Etheridge (717,000), with the prize pool currently standing at £78,875. Oliver Hutchins (417,000) is also well placed to bag yet another PartyPoker Tour trophy.

Dadbin double-barreled with a bet of 40,000, sending Owen into the tank, who took at least three minutes before folding with a wry smile.

Blyth Patterson limped from early position, and was faced with a raise to 15,000 from David Carson from the cutoff. While action was on Kieran Fleming on the button, Patterson moved all-in out of turn for 44,000.

The remaining players folded, and it was reported that Carson edged a chip forward, but perhaps not over the line, and tabled 9♣9♥.

Patterson had asked if Carson had called, who confirmed he had, before he tabled K♦10♥.

The Q♥8♣7♣ flop and A♣ turn kept Carson in front, and at this point Patterson accused Carson of an angle, and suggested Carson’s head should be dead as he had not put calling chips in, and his actions were an open-fold.

The 8♣ river sent Carson the pot and Patterson to the rail.

Carson was perplexed and offended by the accusation, stating his intentions were obvious, and if anyone was angling, it was Patterson, attempting to alter the outcome of a hand he had lost.

The floor was called, and the dealer confirmed he believed Carson’s actions amounted to a call.

The floor confirmed there were no circumstances in which Carson’s hand could be declared dead in any event, where it was simply tabled, there was no verbal declaration of fold, and it had not sent to the muck.

Patterson took his leave, but returned shortly after, and the players continued to debate who was the angle-shooter for a period before Patterson left the playing area.

The final opportunity to qualify is hyper flight Day 1d at noon on August 5, with Day 2 scheduled for 6 p.m. that evening.

Laurence Welch was raking in a triple-up, after two opponents ended up all-in on the turn with flush draws, drawing dead against Welch’s turned full house.

Players have two further opportunities to qualify for Day 2 on August 4, with Day 1b scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m, while turbo flight Day 1c kicks off at 8 p.m.

In Day 1b, players will sit down to a 40,000 starting stack, with the clock set to 30-minute levels. Late registration remains open until the start of Level 10, and 15% of the field qualify for Day 2.

Day 1c follows the same structure as previous flights, but with 20-minute blind levels in play. The final opportunity for players to qualify for Day 2 is Day 1d, scheduled for midday on August 5, which features 15-minute blind levels.

Day 2 survivors will return at 6 p.m. on August 5 in the money, and play will continue until the final table is set, scheduled for 4 p.m. on August 6.

Alexander Gordon Wins £60 poker.pro H.O.R.S.E (£1,000)

A big pot of 200,000 had brewed by the river on a board of 8♦8♠5♦A♦4♠, in a hand between Terry Healy and Kyle Scott.

The river was checked through, and when Scott checked back, Healy enquired “Kings?”.

Scott nodded and tabled K♠K♥, and Healy exclaimed “I knew it!”, as he tabled Q♠Q♥, no doubt grateful the ace on the turn slowed down the action.

Calum Reid opened to 16,000, and Elvio Marandola defended the big blind.

On the A♦10♦6♣ flop, Marandola jammed for around 45,000, and received a quick call from Reid.

Marandola had a flush draw versus Reid’s top pair, but he received insufficient help on the Q♠3♣ runout.

Around 120,000 had made its way into the middle in a battle of the blinds between Rebecca Hardisty and John Woods, with the board reading J♦7♦2♣Q♦10♣.

Hardisty fired out a bet of 45,000, and after a reasonable period in the tank, Woods called.

Hardisty tabled K♦2♦ for the turned flush, and Woods tapped the table and mucked.

Michael Dock limped from the hijack, and called a raise to 20,000 from Daniel Curry in the cutoff.

Dock tabled A♥6♦. and Curry was well ahead with 10♠7♠ for trip sevens.

Both of his opponents called to see the 8♠5♠4♣ flop, where Hardisty checked. Etheridge moved all-in for 59,000, and Marandola followed suit for his 36,000 stack, while Hardisty got out of the way.
