Pure Poker Tour #3 for 2026 is in Swing!

Cam Stewart, Winner of the Main Event, and Player of the Series from 2026 PPT #2

The third running of the 2026 Pure Poker Tour kicks off as the World Series of Poker closes down in Las Vegas. The attentions of Canadian players will turn north from Vegas to Edmonton, where PPT #3 runs for 11 days of poker action at Pure Casino Edmonton starting on Jul 16.

As always, satellite events run in the week leading up to the start, with the first trophy of the games awarded to the 50+ crowd starting at noon on Thursday. The rest of the field won’t be shut out of the trophy action on opening day, however – the NLH/PLO mix, with entries open to the whole field, kicks off at 4 PM Thursday for the first open trophy.

Thursday marks the beginning of 11 days of trophy games at Pure Casino Edmonton. Most days on the schedule will feature two trophy events, with longer structures and multi-day events tending to start in the early timeslot between noon & 2 PM, while faster structures and one-day events generally kick off for the side games between 4 & 7 PM.

Familiar Schedule

The schedule for PPT #3 will be pretty familiar-looking to regular players on the tour. Much of the schedule is a repeat of previous series, and players will find familiar favorites like two- and four-card deepstack hypers, two multi-day events, including the $1,100 Main Event, a few bounty games, and a mix of two- and four-card games throughout the 11 days of poker.

Event #3: $670 NLH Multi-Day

    • Date: Jul 17 – 19
      • Day 1a: Jul 17, 1 PM
      • Day 1b: Jul 18, 1 PM
      • Day 2: Jul 19, 1 PM
    • Start Stack: 30k
    • Blinds: 40 Minutes
    • Late Entry: 9 Levels (ends at ~8:40 PM)
    • Day 1 Ends: 12.5% of the Starting Field; Day 1 will play as long as it takes to get to 12.5%

The opening multi-day game starts on Friday, Jul 17 at 1 PM, and that is the first of two starting days for the event. Friday and Saturday’s qualifiers will reconvene on Sunday at 1 PM for the money play on Day 2. In May, this game drew 161 total entries for prizes of more than $90k, and there’s every chance the prizes this time will cap $100k.

    Event #14: $1,100 Main Event

    • Date: Jul 24 – 26
      • Day 1a: Jul 24, 1 PM
      • Day 1b: Jul 25, 1 PM
      • Day 2: Jul 26, Noon
    • Start Stack: 40k
    • Blinds: 40 Minutes (1 Hour on Day 2)
    • Late Entry: 9 Levels (ends at ~8:55 PM)
    • Day 1 Ends: 12.5% of the Starting Field; Day 1 will play as long as it takes to get to 12.5%

The second multi-day game is the Main Event, running on the final weekend of the series. Two starting days kick off on Friday, Jul 24, with the final money play happening on Sunday’s Day 2, which kicks off at noon and runs until a winner is decided. In May, Cam Stewart capped a stellar series where he picked up his first PPT trophy in the Main Event after coming close multiple times in recent series, and in the process, he secured the Player of the Series title as well.

Action Abounds through the Rest of the Series

The two multi-day games highlight the weekend action at the Pure Poker Tour, but there are 14 other trophies to collect along the way in one=day games as well. Formats include several games in the Omaha format, though most games in the series will play with two cards exclusively.

There are also a few bounty games sprinkled around the schedule, including a PKO and a PLO Big Bounty game. For players looking for fast action, the two deepstack hyper games return this series as well, providing a unique mix of lots of chips for lightning-fast blind levels that drives action in a way no other format on the schedule does.

The other notable game straddles the line between single- and multi-day. Event #7: $1,000 6-Max has two days on the schedule, but there is only a single Day 1 flight. The money play for Event #7 will return for Day 2, with Day 1 playing until 12.5% of the field remains (depending on entries and Day 1 length, action might play until the final table before they bag for Day 2).

Player of the Series Battle Returns

Alongside all the individual event trophies on offer across PPT #3, the 2026 Tour has brought back the Player of the Series race. With $2,500 in cash & prizes up for grabs, as well as a trophy, regular players will be looking to pile on the points through the series.

Players will acquire points for every cash across the series, with total points earned based on the field size and finishing position. Buy-in is not relevant for PoS points (note that buy-in IS relevant for the Player of the Year race, which includes all the PPT events throughout the year, as well as Pure Monthlies and other games from the Alberta properties), so with comparable field sizes, the winner of the Main Event will get the same points as the winner of any other game.

In the May series, Cam Stewart was the big man, after coming very close a few times in recent series. Stewart took down the Main Event and his first PPT trophy to secure the Player of the Series prize, but it was a battle right up until the final bell, with several players deep in Day 2 of the Main with a shot at taking the Series title down.
