Darcy Stone Defeats Danh Huynh Heads Up
Level: 25 (25000/50000/50000) Entries: 1/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 9:45 PM
Darcy Stone, Winner of E3
Danh Huynh Heads up was a pretty quick affair. The final two players made a bit of a deal, with the pair agreeing that the winner would pay the loser an extra $1,000.

Final Hand for E3 Stone had the big lead heads up, and the money went in when Huynh woke up with an ace, but ran into pocket nines for Stone. The nines held on a board of K♠8♦10♣6♣K♣, and Stone had the trophy.

Pav Braich Out in 3rd Place for $10,205
Level: 25 (25000/50000/50000) Entries: 2/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 9:35 PM
Pav Braich After limped action preflop, Pav Braich bet 100k from the small blind on the Q♥5♦7♥ flop and Darcy Stone called from the big.
The turn was 8♠ and Braich fired 250k. Stone snap-shoved, sending Braich deep into the tank. This was at least the second time Stone snap-shoved on Braich at this final table, and the last time Stone shoved the river on a busted draw which Braich called off for the win.
In this case, Braich called after a couple of minutes in the tank, but this time, Stone was on two pair with queen-seven against queen-jack for Braich. The 5♠ river didn’t help Braich, and he was out for 3rd place.

Toller Conrad Darcy Stone raised the small blind to 100k, then snapped it off when Toller Conrad shoved all in from the big. Conrad was in trouble with A♦9♥ against pocket queens for Stone. Stone flopped the set and held on 10♣Q♣4♣9♦7♠.
The remaining players are all now guaranteed a five-figure payout. There is a break in 3 minutes, and I’ll update the final three stacks then.

Stone Gets a Double
Level: 24 (20000/40000/40000) Entries: 5/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 8:45 PM Francis Fan raised under the gun to 100k, and Darcy Stone called from the big blind. They both checked the 4♥8♣5♦ flop, and after Stone checked the 9♦ turn, Fan shoved.
Stone snapped it off and showed seven-six for the flopped straight, while Fan was on a gutshot with A♠3♠. The 5♣ river didn’t change anything, and Stone got the double.
They are taking another break in about 20 minutes, and I’ll update the counts again then.
-
Conrad Doubles
Level: 24 (20000/40000/40000) Entries: 5/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 8:30 PM Toller Conrad shoved for the second hand in a row. In the first hand, he shoved the small blind, and Danh Huynh folded from the big. The next hand, he shoved his button, and Pav Braich called from the big blind.
Braich was marginally ahead with K♦7♦ against J♠9♠, but Conrad found a nine on the flop if 9♥4♥10♣10♦3♦ and held for the double.
-
Huynh Goes Agro
Level: 23 (15000/30000/30000) Entries: 5/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 8:00 PM Danh Huynh raised the cutoff to 60k, and both Darcy Stone and Francis Fan called from the blinds. They all checked the A♦8♣2♣ flop, and Stone led for 75k on the 7♠ turn.
That pushed Fan out, but Huynh came over the top to 250k. Stone called to the 2♥ river, where he fired 120k. Huynh again took the agro line, pumping it up to 450k after asking what Stone had behind. Stone tanked for a bit, then mucked, showing an ace.
-
Conrad Doubles through Braich
Level: 22 (15000/25000/25000) Entries: 5/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 7:25 PM Toller Conrad opened the cutoff to 60k, then shoved for 405k when Pav Braich reraised to 155k from the small blind. “I think I priced myself in,” Braich said, sliding out the call.
Conrad was solid with pocket queens, while Braich was looking for a king or diamonds with K♦9♦. Braich found a nine on the flop, but by the time the 9♠5♥6♥8♦3♦ board was complete, the queens were still good, and Conrad got tge double.
-
Denis Mujcin Out in 6th Place for $4,790
Level: 22 (15000/25000/25000) Entries: 5/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 7:15 PM
Denis Mujcin I missed the action while updating the side game, but Denis Mujcin was the short stack, with less than 6 big blinds, at the dinner count, and he lost that stack shortly after they returned from the break.

Fan Doubles Through Stone
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 6/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 6:30 PM Francis Fan shoved under the gun for 275k, and Darcy Stone called from the big blind. It was a race between pocket fives for Stone and ace-seven for Fan. Fan found his ace on the flop of 2♦A♥9♠3♦10♣ and held for the double.
There’s a break coming in about 5 minutes, and I’ll update the stacks then.
-
Braich Finds the Call
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 6/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 6:20 PM I picked up the action on the turn with the board reading 6♠K♦J♠2♦. Pav Braich bet 100k from the small blind, and big blind Darcy Stone called to see 5♥ on the river.
Braich checked, and Stone shoved the big stack, covering Braich. He hit the tank for several minutes, seemingly agonizing over the spot, before finally putting in the call.
“Nice call,” said Stone, showing queen-ten. Braich excitedly turned over king-deuce for the turned two pair, and doubled into the lead. He had 495k behind with a sizable pot already in the middle, so he’s wll over 1 million now.
-
Lep Zhang Out in 7th Place for $3,770
Level: 21 (10000/20000/20000) Entries: 6/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 6:05 PM
Leo Zhang It was blind on blind when Leo Zhang raised to 45k, then called it off with less when Toller Conrad shoved the big blind. Zhang was in good shape with queens against ace-eight, but Conrad ran out to a wheel for the win.

Bishop, Wilson Early Busts from the FT
Level: 20 (10000/15000/15000) Entries: 7/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 5:45 PM While I was processing the final table photos, two players took early exits to the cash cage. Defending champ Brad Bishop was the first to exit, and I missed his bustout action. Ross Wilson followed shortly after in a fairly crazy hand.
Wilson shoved early, and Toller Conrad flatted from the middle before Danh Huynh reshoved for about 80k more. Conrad called it off to cover both, and he had king-jack, as did Wilson, while Huynh was on pocket queens. The board ran clean for the queens, though Conrad and Wilson caught their jack on the river. Below is a look at all the final table faces, with Bishop and Wilson already cashing out.

Stone hit the river with ace-queen for top pair, Conrad mucked, and Fayant hit the cage for 10th place, showing king-ten. They are now setting the final table – stay tuned for final table faces.

Rofuli, Robertson, Thacker Hit the Rail
Level: 19 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 10/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 5:10 PM It was all in between Jan Rofuli and Brad Bishop after three-way preflop action. Toller Conrad was also in, but folded on the J♠A♠3♣. That left Bishop’s kings ahead of the tens for Rofuli, and after the cards were shown, Conrad said he folded queens. The kings held, hitting a set on the 2♠K♦ runout.
Shortly after, Brenda Robertson & Rob Thacker were seen getting their playslips, though I missed the bustout action.

Level: 19 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 13/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 4:55 PM Pav Braich opened to 25k under the gun, but then folded when big blind Brenda Robertson shoved.
In the next hand, Leo Zhang opened the middle to 27k, and Danh Huynh called from the cutoff. On the flop of 3♠9♠A♣, Zhang check-shoved over a bet of 40k from Huynh. Huynh was covered and tanked for a bit before he folded to send the pot to Zhang.

The flop was 5♦Q♥3♦ and after two checks from the blinds, Rofuli bet 27k, enough to force folds from the rest of the table.

Level: 17 (4000/8000/8000) Entries: 15/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 3:40 PM Ross Wilson opened the betting under the gun to 16k, and it folded all the way around to Leo Zhang, to his right, in the big blind. Zhang put in the call to see A♠J♣2♣ on the flop.
Zhang check-raised from 16k to 38k, and Wilson put in the call, but when Zhang fired 68k on the 4♥ turn, Wilson tank folded. Francis Fan said he folded ace-jack preflop, which would have hit two pair.

Braich Flops It
Level: 17 (4000/8000/8000) Entries: 15/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 3:20 PM Michael St. Pierre-Porter raised to 16k under the gun, and it folded around to Pav Braich in the big blind, who slid out the call. The flop was K♠9♦J♠, and Braich check-called for 25k, and they both checked it down through the 5♣2♠ runout. Braich showed a king-six for top pair, and St. Pierre-Porter mucked his hand.
-
Zhang Steals Some
Level: 17 (4000/8000/8000) Entries: 15/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 3:10 PM Pav Braich opened the middle to 13k, and Michael St. Pierre-Porter called from the hijack before Leo Zhang pumped it up to 48k from the cutoff. Level: 16 (3000/6000/6000) Entries: 17/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 2:50 PM Jody Fayant opened early to 12k, and it folded around to Darcy Stone in the bog blind and on the big stack. He tossed out a call to see 10♦2♠A♠ on the flop.
Stone check-called for 13k, and they both checked the K♣ turn. After Stone checked the K♥ river, Fayant fired 43k into the middle. Stone didn’t take long to fold, showing pocket sevens face up. Fayant showed a red ace, then said his kicker was a king, which would have boated him up on the river, though he didn’t show his second card.
-
Bishop Shoves on Fayant
Level: 16 (3000/6000/6000) Entries: 17/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 2:40 PM Jody Fayant raised the cutoff to 13k before Brad Bishop shoved the button for close to 200k. That sent Fayant into the tank for close to a minute as he counted out the call, rechecked his cards, then finally folded to Bishop’s shove.
Bishop is the defending champion of this game, having taken it down in the opening series this year. He came into Day 2 pretty short, but he’s chipping up and looks to be over 200k now.

Level: 15 (2500/5000/5000) Entries: 14/106 (21/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 11:40 PM They are on the 1b bubble now with 14 players left. Holly Lingel and Morris Kadylo were the most recent busts to bring it 14, and the clock is now paused for hand-for-hand play, with the bags coming out after the next elimination.
-
Down to 16
Level: 14 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 16/106 (23/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 11:25 PM Jarret Gray shoved under the gun, and it folded around to Denis Mujcin in the small blind. He called for a race between his pocket tens and ace-king of hearts for Gray.
Mujcin had to sweat when Gray flopped two hearts, but the runout was safe for the pair on a board of J♥7♥8♣J♣9♦ and Gray hit the rail in 17th place. That puts them 3 off the bags now, and 2 away from hand-for-hand play.
-
Four Off the Bags
Level: 14 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 17/106 (24/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 11:10 PM Ronald Piasetzi was the most recent exit from Day 1b, bringing the field to 17 and leaving them four eliminations away from the end of Day 1b.

Final 18 Players; Kierstead Looks to be Leading
Level: 14 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 18/106 (25/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 11:00 Day 1b is now 5 off the bags after they just broke down to two tables. Jo Teliani was among the recent busts, losing her stack in a cooler to Will Kierstead, chipping him up to around 300k for the lead. I don’t have a good handle on all the chips right now, but below is a look at how the final 18 are seated.
T-S Player 1 – 1 Danh Huynh 1 – 2 Michael St. Pierre-Porter 1 – 3 Holly Lingel 1 – 4 Denis Mujcin 1 – 5 Ross Wilson 1 – 6 Jarret Gray 1 – 7 Chris Symesko 1 – 8 Ronald Piasetzi 1 – 9 Leo Zhang 3 – 1 Francis Fan 3 – 2 Will Kierstead 3 – 3 Morris Kadylo 3 – 4 Pav Braich 3 – 5 Ed Sorenson 3 – 6 Rob Thacker 3 – 7 Weston Pring 3 – 8 Brenda Robertson 3 – 9 Yaobin Wu -
Down to 20 Remaining
Level: 13 (1500/3000/3000) Entries: 20/106 (27/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 10:50 PM Day 1b is down to 20 players now after Yeping Shan and Nu Teliani lost their stacks recently. About 5 minutes remain in Level 13. Day 1a finished in Level 14, and it looks like 1b won’t be far off that, though I expect them to potentially play into the early part of Level 15 tonight, with the bubble play starting partway through Level 14.
-
9 Off the Bags
Level: 13 (1500/3000/3000) Entries: 22/106 (29/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 10:40 PM The 1b field is down to 22 players left now, with about 15 minutes to play in Level 13. That leaves them 9 players away from the end of the night, so it’s looking increasingly like they’ll play a bit later tonight than they did last night. Travis Darroch and Hassan Issa were the most recent casualties from the 1b field.

Teliani Leads After 12 Levels
Level: 13 (1500/3000/3000) Entries: 24/106 (31/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 10:15 PM I’ve just grabbed a full chip count for the remaining 24 players after Cam Stewart called off with a straight draw on the final hand before the break. He was up against top pair, and he bricked the runout to exit just before the break.
Jo Teliani is the leader and the only player with more than 200k. She and Ed Sorenson, on her left, have been trading the lead for the last few levels. See below for a look at how all the players stack up.
T-S Player Chips 1 – 1 Yeping Shan 61,000 1 – 2 Morris Kadylo 119,000 1 – 3 Holly Lingel 53,500 1 – 4 Denis Mujcin 150,000 1 – 5 Ross Wilson 191,500 1 – 6 Jarret Gray 102,500 1 – 7 Chris Symesko 93,000 1 – 9 Leo Zhang 100,000 2 – 1 Rob Thacker 155,000 2 – 2 Ronald Piasetzi 92,000 2 – 3 Hassan Issa 50,000 2 – 4 Pav Braich 55,000 2 – 5 Danh Huynh 135,000 2 – 6 John Donnelly 133,000 2 – 7 Travis Darroch 60,000 2 – 9 Michael St. Pierre-Porter 147,000 3 – 1 Francis Fan 75,000 3 – 2 Will Kierstead 178,000 3 – 4 Jo Teliani 214,000 3 – 5 Ed Sorenson 125,500 3 – 6 Nu Teliani 86,000 3 – 7 Weston Pring 108,500 3 – 8 Brenda Robertson 75,000 3 – 9 Yaobin Wu 102,000 -
Down to 25 Remaining
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 25/106 (32/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 9:50 PM They are now 12 off the bags with about 8 minutes to play before the next break.
-
Final Three Tables for 1b
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 27/106 (34/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 9:40 PM The 1b field has just broken down to the final three tables with 27 players left. That puts them 14 away from the end of the night, with just over 20 minutes to play in Level 12. There’s a break following this level, and I should be able to get a full list of chips during the break.
-
Sorenson Leads
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 28/106 (35/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 9:30 PM I’ve just had a quick look around the field and it looks like Ed Sorenson is the current leader. He’s playing a bit more than 200k and looks to be the only player close to that number. Jo Teliani still has a decent stack, but she’s down to about 130k now, while Danh Huynh is on about 160k.
I should be able to get full counts at the break coming in about 25 minutes.
-
15 Off the Bags
Level: 11 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 28/106 (35/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 9:10 PM The 1b field is down to 28 left, with about 10 minutes to play in Level 11. That puts them 15 off the bags for today.
Day 1a player into Level 14 before the bags came out, but tonight may go a little longer. That said, they could easily lose 15 players in the next couple of levels, so it’s a bit of an open guess right now how late tonight will go.

13 Bags for 1b; Day 2 Winner Gets More than $22k
Level: 11 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 33/106 (40/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 8:50 PM The final numbers are in, and Day 1b topped out at 106 entries for a combined total of 161. That means there will be 13 bags at the end of the day today, with 20 players returning to the action in the money for Day 2 tomorrow.
Day 2 Prizes

Teliani Leads Dinner Chips
Level: 9 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 38/106 (45/161 combined) Prizes: $60,420 (Combined: $91,770) Local Time: 7:45 PM I’ve had a look around the room on the dinner break, and it looks like Jo Teliani has the big stack coming back with entries closed. She is playing about 185k, while Rob Thacker has about 160k for second place. The five biggest stacks I saw are listed below.
Player Chips Jo Teliani 185,000 Rob Thacker 160,000 Michael St. Pierre-Porter 147,000 Morris Kadylo 140,000 Chris Symesko 110,000 -
More than $90k to Start Dinner
Level: 9 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 36/105 (43/160 combined) Prizes: $59,850 (Combined: $91,200) Local Time: 7:30 PM The dinner break has just begun with the 1b field at 105 for a combined total of 160. That puts the combined prizes at $91,200, with about 30 minutes left to enter. They need 16 more entries to hit a combined pool of $100k, so that still looks a little out of reach, but 7 more entries over dinner will make $95k.
-
Just Shy of $90k as Dinner Approaches
Level: 9 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 36/102 (43/157 combined) Prizes: $58,140 (Combined: $89,490) Local Time: 7:25 PM Less than 10 minutes remain until the dinner break, and entries will close at the end of dinner. The field is now at 102 entries on 1b, for a combined total of 157. That leaves the combined prizes at $89,490, so one more entry will push it over $90k, and it seems very likely they’ll get at least a couple more entries before the desk shuts down for good on this event.
-
100 1b Entries
Level: 9 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 36/100 (43/155 combined) Prizes: $57,000 (Combined: $88,350) Local Time: 7:10 PM Just under an hour remains in entries for Event #3, and the 1b field just hit 100 entries, for a combined total of 155. That puts the total prizes at $88,350, meaning 3 more entries will push it over $90k.
-
Up to 94 Entries; Nearly 150 Combined
Level: 8 (500/1000/1000) Entries: 43/94 (50/149 combined) Prizes: $53,580 (Combined: $84,930) Local Time: 6:30 PM The combined field is now at 149 entries about halfway through Level 8, with 94 on the board for Day 1b. That puts the combined prizes just shy of $85k, with about 90 minutes left to enter this event.
-
2 Hours to Go in Entries
Level: 7 (400/800/800) Entries: 45/89 (52/144 combined) Prizes: $50,730 (Combined: $82,080) Local Time: 6:05 PM Just under 2 hours remain in entries for Event #3, and the field is at 89 entries for today’s flight, and 144 across both days. That puts the 1b prizes over $50k, and the combined pool at $82,080.
Just over 5 minutes remain in Level 7, with entries set to close following the 30-minute dinner break after Level 9.
-
85 Entries After Second Break
Level: 7 (400/800/800) Entries: 47/85 (54/140 combined) Prizes: $48,450 (Combined: $79,800) Local Time: 5:35 PM The 1b players are just back from their second break of the day, and the field is at 85 entries, for a combined total of 140 entries. That puts the combined prizes just shy of $80k, with almost $50k of that coming from today’s flight.
Entries are still open for a little more than 2 hours, so there’s still plenty of time for today’s field to cap 100 entries.
-
More than $75k Combined
Level: 6 (300/600/600) Entries: 52/82 (59/137 combined) Prizes: $46,740 (Combined: $78,090) Local Time: 4:35 PM The combined prizes are approaching $80k now, with 82 entries on the board for Day 1b so far. Level 6 has just begun, and there are now a bit more than 3 hours remaining in the entry period.
If today’s field hits 100 entries, which still seems like a pretty reasonable bet, the combined prizes will be just shy of $90k. They need 103 entries today for the prizes to hit $90k, and a total of 121 today for the prizes to cap $100k.
-
More than 70 1b Entries
Level: 4 (200/400/400) Entries: 51/71 (58/126 combined) Prizes: $40,470 (Combined: $71,820) Local Time: 3:45 PM With about 10 minutes to play in Level 4, the 1b field is now at 71 entries, for a combined total of 126. That puts the 1b prizes at more than $40k, for almost $72k overall.
Today’s flight needs 121 entries to push the prizes over $100k. That looks a bit optimistic at this point, but a field of 100+ for combined prizes in the $90k range still seems on pace.
-
Nearing $70k in Combined Prizes
Level: 4 (200/400/400) Entries: 50/66 (57/121 combined) Prizes: $37,620 (Combined: $68,970) Local Time: 3:30 PM The combined field is now over 120 entries with 66 on the board so far for Day 1b. That puts the combined prizes at almost $69k, with just two more entries pushing it over $70k.
-
1b Numbers Before First Break
Level: 3 (200/300/300) Entries: 43/55 (50/110 combined) Prizes: $31,350 (Combined: $62,700) Local Time: 2:55 PM The 1b field just hit the 1a total, and there are still 5 minutes to play in Level 3 before the first break of the day. The 1b field is now 55 entries, for 110 overall, and $62,700 in combined prizes.
The current pace still makes a 1b field of 100 or more well within sight, as there are still about 5 hours left to enter today’s final flight.
-
Nearing 1a Numbers Before First Break
Level: 3 (200/300/300) Entries: 44/49 (54/104 combined) Prizes: $27,930 (Combined: $59,280) Local Time: 2:30 PM The combined prizes are now just shy of $60k, with more than 100 combined entries in the game. So farm 1b has 49 entries with a bit more than 30 minutes to play in Level 3, so they only need 6 more entries to hit the 1a total. It still looks like that will happen before the first break of the day.
Among the players I’ve spotted in the early levels are Benny Sarnelli, Ross Wilson (who won the Mix game the other night), David Johnson (who was deep in the money in the PLO Deepstack Hyper last night). Hassan Issa, Nu Teliani, John Donnelly, Leo Zhang, Radica Fatol, Shane Cutinha, and Tyler St. Clair.
-
Nearing $55k in Combined Prizes
Level: 2 (100/200/200) Entries: 39/39 (49/94 combined) Prizes: $22,230 (Combined: $53,580) Local Time: 1:55 PM The 1b field is significantly bigger than 1a in the early action. The field is now up to 39 entries, for 94 overall, and more than $53k in combined prizes. With about 25 minutes to play in Level 2, it looks like the 1b field could cap 1a before the first break of the day.
-
More than Half the 1a Field Already
Level: 1 (100/100/100) Entries: 30/30 (40/85 combined) Prizes: $17,100 (Combined: $48,450) Local Time: 1:30 PM The 1b field is now more than half the size of the total 1a field, and Level 1 is still ongoing. The field is already at 30 entries and climbing, putting the combined prizes just a couple of entries shy of $50k.
The early pace today seems promising for a decent field, but it’s been hard to predict field sizes this time around. It looks like 100 entries for today is well within reason, but time will tell.
Among the early players I’ve spotted so far are Shawn Taghavi. Preston Stevenson, Erci Wasylenko, Matthew Ouellette, Seniors champ Saroar Parvez, Brenda Robertson, Holly Lingul, Michael St. Pierre-Porter, Andy Perry, Brett Doty, Ali Razzaq, Rob Limpert, and defending champ Brad Bishop. Bishop bagged Day 1, but after a late-day cooler where his queens lost a race to ace-king, he only put 88k into his 1a bag, so he’s back today looking for a bigger one.
-
23 Entries Early in 1b
Level: 1 (100/100/100) Entries: 23/23 (33/78 combined) Prizes: $13,110 (Combined: $44,460) Local Time: 1:15 PM Level 1 is underway, and it looks like 1b will be significantly better than 1a. With 23 entries on the board 10 minutes into the day, the 1b field is already almost half the complete 1a field.
The combined prizes are now just shy of $45lk, with more than $13k of that coming from 1b entries so far.

Final Flight to Sunday’s Day 2 Runs Saturday

Event #3: $670 NLH Day 1B ($600 + $70)
Date: May 9, 1 PM Blinds: 40 Minutes Starting Stack: 25k Late Entry: 9 Levels (~8:00 PM) Day 1 Ends: 12.5% of the field, all Day 2 players in the money Entries: 7/55 Prizes: $31,350 The final flight to the money in Event #3 is running on Saturday, with the action kicking off at 1 PM. Day 1b is a redo of Day 1a, though it’s expected that the field will be significantly bigger.
Players sit down with 25k chips, and blinds are 40 minutes for the entirety of Day 1 play. There are nine levels of late entry, with the entry desk closing at about 8 PM, after the dinner break following Level 9. After that, they play as long as it takes to make it to 12.5% of the starting field.
Day 1a played for a bit more than 13 levels, with the bags coming out relatively early in Level 14. When all seven 1a bags were collected, Darcy Stone was well ahead of the rest of the field, bagging 529k. That was more than 300k ahead of second-place, Jared Zierler with 217k.
Chip Counts from Day 1a
Player Chips Darcy Stone 529,000 Jared Zierler 217,000 Toller Conrad 193,500 Jody Fayant 192,000 Jan Rofuli 111,500 Brad Bishop 88,000 Johnny Dalphond 45,000 Defending champ Brad Bishop was running hot through most of the night, but lost a flip late in the day. He still managed to bag a stack to try and defend his title on Sunday, but with just 88k in his 1a bag, he may opt to fire a Day 1b bullet or two to try for a bigger stack.

Darcy Stone Bags Biggest for 1a
Level: 14 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 7/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 11:35 PM
The bags are in, and Darcy Stone is the leader from the 1a stacks. He bagged more than half a million, more than twice as much as Jared Zierler, with 217k for second place.

Bag Bubble
Level: 14 (2000/4000/4000) Entries: 8/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 11:00 The 1a field is now on the bubble to the bags with 8 players remaining. Level 14 has just begun, and they’ve been playing 8-handed for about 10 minutes already. Ross Wilson and Andy Perry were the most recent exits to put them on the bubble.
-
Back in Action, 3 Off the Bags
Level: 13 (1500/3000/3000) Entries: 10/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 10:20 PM The 1a players are back in action with the final 10 players still alive. They’ll break down to the final table after the next elimination, and they are three players away from the end-of-day bags. It seems likely they’ll hit the bubble sometime in this level.
-
Pring, Kozniuk Exit, Bishop Leads
Level: 13 (1500/3000/3000) Entries: 10/55 Prizes: $36,350 Local Time: 10:10 PM The field is down to 10 remaining on the break following Level 12. Weston Pring and Shane Kozniuk were the most recent busts to get them to 10, while defending champ Brad Bishop is sticking big once again with 230k in front of him. Jared Zierler is the only other player over 200k, but Toller Conrad and Jody Fayant (who was part of the Seniors deal last night) are pretty close to that mark.
T-S Player Chips 1 – 1 Andy Perry 127,000 1 – 2 Darcy Stone 160,000 1 – 3 Ross Wilson 86,500 1 – 7 Toller Conrad 190,000 1 – 9 Jared Zierler 211,000 2 – 1 Yaobin Wu 64,500 2 – 2 Jan Rofuli 63,000 2 – 5 Brad Bishop 230,000 2 – 7 Johnny Dalphond 57,500 2 – 9 Jody Fayant 188,000 -
Down to 11
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 11/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 9:55 PM The 1a field is down to 1a now after Ed Sorenson and Weston Pring hit the rail recently. Just over 5 minutes remain before the break, so expect full chip counts coming soon.
-
Wilson Takes it On Flop
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 13/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 9:44 PM Ross Wilson opened the action under the gun with a raise to 5k. Toller Conrad called from the hijack, Jared Zierler called from the button, and big blind Darcy Stone made it four ways to the 3♣2♦A♠ flop. After a check from Stone, Wilson fired 10k and got three folds to take down blinds and antes plus an extra 15k.
-
Kozniuk Gets One Through
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 13/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 9:40 PM Weston Pring opened to 6.5k early, and Brad Bishop called from the button before big blind Shane Kozniuk shoved for 26k. Pring folded his hand pretty quickly, but Bishop took a bit longer to come to the same decision. Dennis Cleaver was the most recent exit to bring the game to 13 remaining, 6 off the bags.
The break is coming in about 20 minutes, and I’ll grab a complete round of chip counts then for all remaining players.
-
14 Remain in 1a
Level: 1500/2500/2500) Entries: 14/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 9:35 PM Just under 30 minutes remain in Level 12, and the field is down to 14 remaining. Gerald Chung and Skyler York were the most recent players to exit the game, while Andy Perry has switched tables to balance things out at 7 players each.
-
9 Off the Bags
Level: 12 (1500/2500/2500) Entries: 16/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 9:25 PM The 1a field is down to 16 left to start Level 12. That puts them 9 away from the 7 bags expected tonight. There is a break coming at the end of this level, and I’ll grab a full round of counts then. Since they got to the final two tables, Hassan Issa and Will Kierstead have hit the rail to bring it to 16.
-
10 Off the Bags
Level: 11 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 17/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 8:55 PM They are down to 17 remaining in Day 1a. I’ll grab a full round of counts at the next break in about an hour, but below is a look at the remaining players in the game, and it looks like Toller Conrad and Jared Zierler are still the big stacks.
Table-Seat Player 1 – 1 Skyler York 1 – 2 Darcy Stone 1 – 3 Gerald Chung 1 – 5 Dennis Cleaver 1 – 6 Yaobin Wu 1 – 7 Toller Conrad 1 – 8 Jan Rofuli 1 – 9 Jared Zierler 2 – 1 Weston Pring 2 – 2 Ed Sorenson 2 – 3 Andy Perry 2 – 4 Will Kierstead 2 – 5 Brad Bishop 2 – 6 Ross Wilson 2 – 7 Johnny Dalphond 2 – 8 Shane Kozniuk 2 – 9 Jody Fayant -
Final Two Tables for 1a Action
Level: 11 (1000/2000/2000) Entries: 18/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 8:55 PM Level 11 has just begun, and they are now 11 off the end-of-night bags with 18 players remaining. The average stack is still pretty deep at 35 big blinds, so this could still go on for a while, despite being so close to 12.5%.
-
55 Entries for 1a
Level: 10 (1000/1500/1500) Entries: 24/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 8:15 PM Level 10 has just under 30 minutes remaining, with entries closed about 10 minutes ago. The final number on the board is 55, and if that holds after the staff counts all the money, then it should mean they’ll play down to 7 players before the end of the night.
There is no hard stop on Day 1 action, and players should expect to keep playing until they get to 7 players, no matter how late it goes.
-
Zierler Leads Dinner Chips
Level: 9 (600/1200/1200) Entries: 24/55 Prizes: $31,350 Local Time: 7:50 PM The 1a players still have about 10 minutes on their dinner break, and I’ve had a look around for some big stacks. Players sit down with 25k in chips, and blinds are 40 minutes long throughout Day 1 play. Entries are open for 9 levels on Day 1, putting the last chance to enter at about 8 pm on both starting days. After that, Day 1 plays down to 12.5% of the starting field before the bags come out, no matter how long that takes. Players must put chips in a bag to get a payout, but players can play both days, and if they bag both days, they’ll get a min-cash for the small bag and play the big one.

-

Mujcin had to sweat when Gray flopped two hearts, but the runout was safe for the pair on a board of J♥7♥8♣J♣9♦ and Gray hit the rail in 17th place. That puts them 3 off the bags now, and 2 away from hand-for-hand play.

-
Stone Gets a Double

Lep Zhang Out in 7th Place for $3,770

Jody Fayant Bubbles the Final Table
Level: 20 (10000/15000/15000) Entries: 9/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 5:20 PM Jody Fayant shoved for 67k under the gun, and both Darcy Stone & Toller Conrad called. The active players checked it down through 2♥3♥8♣4♣Q♦.

Robertson, Zhang Get Shoves Through
Level: 19 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 13/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 4:55 PM Pav Braich opened to 25k under the gun, but then folded when big blind Brenda Robertson shoved.

Rofuli Takes it on the Flop
Level: 19 (6000/12000/12000) Entries: 13/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 4:45 PM Jan Rofuli opened early from the short stack, making it 24k to go. Rob Thacker called from the button, as did Darcy Stone and Toller Conrad in the blinds.
The flop was 5♦Q♥3♦ and after two checks from the blinds, Rofuli bet 27k, enough to force folds from the rest of the table.

Zhang Defends Big

Francis Fan tanked for a bit on his big blind before folding, and both Braich and St. Pierre-Porter followed suit to send the dead money to Zhang.

Fayant Flops It
Level: 16 (3000/6000/6000) Entries: 17/161 Prizes: $91,770 Local Time: 2:50 PM Jody Fayant opened early to 12k, and it folded around to Darcy Stone in the bog blind and on the big stack.
