The 2026 WSOP Circuit Bratislava rolled on Sunday at Card Casino Šamorín, just outside Bratislava, Slovakia, as the festival delivered its first gold ring and set the stage for a record-breaking Mini Main Event final table.
What a start to the festival, which is running through August 11 with 12 WSOP Circuit Ring Events and more than €2.8 million guaranteed. The €350 Mini Main Event wrapped up its starting flights with a final tally of 1,709 entries, building a €519,536 prize pool, almost double the guarantee. A total of 171 players advanced to Day 2 on Sunday, and that field has now been whittled down to a final nine, who will battle it out for the €85,000 top prize, a coveted ring, and a $5,000 WSOP Paradise Bahamas package.
In other news, the festival’s first ring was handed out on Sunday, as Italy’s Vincenzo Lapenna won the one-day Ring Event #4: €800 NLH Bounty Hunter for €18,226. Elsewhere, Ring Event #3, the €550 PLO Opener, kicked off with Day 1a, and Ring Event #2, the €550 Mystery Bounty, continued with its second starting flight.

Lakatos Extends His Lead as Mini Main Event Final Table Is Set
The Mini Main Event saw an additional 329 entries in the final hyper turbo flight Day 1E, pushing the overall tally to an incredible 1,709 entries and blowing both the guarantee and last year’s numbers out of the water. The final prize pool settled at €519,536, with €85,000 reserved for whoever puts on the circuit ring.
The 171 players who qualified for Day 2 were whittled down to the final nine, and Hungary’s Benjamin Lakatos stayed out in front the entire way. Lakatos didn’t just hold onto the chip lead but extended it by a significant margin. He enters the final table with 20,500,000, good for 205 big blinds. Italy’s Fabio Giamberardini is next in line with 13,225,000, while Austria’s Jozef Stern already sits below 10 million with 8,475,000.
After Boris Progner bubbled the final table in tenth place, the only home-country hope left in the field is Miroslav Salaj, who bagged up 3,250,000. It’s a deep final table all around, averaging 75 big blinds, and even the shortest stack at the table in Hungary’s Richard Broda, starts the day with a healthy 29 big blinds.

Lapenna Wins First Ring of the Festival in €800 NLH Bounty Hunter
The festival’s first coveted Circuit ring was awarded on Sunday in the €800 Bounty Hunter, a format well known in this part of Europe. A field of 174 entries comfortably beat the €75,000 guarantee, with the prize pool settling at €119,016, of which €43,500 was reserved for bounties. It was a marathon event that finished deep into the night.
In the end, it was Italy’s Vincenzo Lapenna who had the composure and skill to see it through, collecting his first-ever WSOP Circuit ring along with €18,226 and a share of the bounties. He’ll be heading to the Bahamas in December for the WSOP Paradise as a result. According to the Hendon Mob, it’s Lapenna’s first recorded live poker tournament win. Quite the way to break through. He beat Hungary’s Daniel Koloszar heads-up, with Koloszar banking €12,100 for the runner-up finish. The best Slovakian finish went to Peter Varga, who took third for €8,280.

Mystery Bounty Adds a Second Flight
The €550 Mystery Bounty continued with the second of its four starting flights on Sunday, drawing 45 additional entries for a running total of 87 in the €200,000-guaranteed event. Once again, seven players advanced, joining the seven who came through Saturday’s opening flight.
Croatia’s Claude Jambrusic grabbed the biggest stack of the day with 270,000, with Austria’s Florian Woess close behind at 243,000. However, neither could catch Ukraine’s Anton Hritsov, who remains atop the overall chip leaderboard heading into the remaining flights.

PLO Opener Fires Its First Flight
Pot-Limit Omaha fans got in on the action too, as Ring Event #3 €550 PLO Opener kicked off with the first of three starting flights. The event carries a €150,000 guarantee, and Day 1A brought together 54 PLO enthusiasts. Three players already secured min-cash-territory prizes for seventh to ningth finish, while six qualified for the final day on Tuesday, August 4.
Azerbaijan’s Izzat Bananyarli bagged the chip lead with 796,000, but Slovakia’s own Alan Sabo is right on his heels with 786,000. His countryman Lubos Benkovic sits third with 570,000, with the rest of the field a bit further back.
