  • PLO Masters Kicks Off Tomorrow (May 13)

    Prizes:€59,625

Tomorrow, the €1,000 PLO Masters High Roller is one of the seven events on the schedule (including satellites). The PLO Masters is a series of PLO tournaments that runs in conjunction with the PartyPoker Tour. The founder of the PLO Masters, JJ Hazan, might come to Madrid himself and show the Spaniards how a real grandmaster plays four-card shenanigans.

  • Beevers in the House

    Level 3:100/300 (300)
    Entries:160/168
    Prizes:€59,625

This poker.pro live reporter felt a pat on the back. It was legendary poker player/PartyPoker Tour Ambassador Joe Beevers, who has now made his way to Madrid and Casino Gran Via. It’s an educated guess that Beevers will join fellow ambassador Niall “Firaldo” Farrell in Day 1b of the €150 Mini Main Event.

Rebecca Hardisty is another PartyPoker Tour Ambassador who’s currently in Madrid. She has not yet entered Day 1b, but she did play Day 1a yesterday (didn’t make it through to Day 2). Maybe she and PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples will show up soon.

Daniel Garcia is the only PartyPoker Tour Ambassador who has found a Day 2 bag so far, so he won’t play today. Unless he decides to tangle in the €115 Target Stack Satellite to the €1,000 PLO Masters High Roller, that is.

  • Guarantee Already Reached

    Level 2:100/200 (200)
    Entries:158/164
    Prizes:€59,000

Already on Level 2 of Day 1b, the €50,000 guarantee for the €150 Mini Main Event has already been surpassed. The prize pool currently reads €59,000, and with seven levels of late registration left in Day 1b (and two more starting-day flights), the prize pool could potentially reach six digits.

  • Small Exchange

    Level 2:100/200 (200)
    Entries:136/143
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Carlos Hidalgo opened to 600 from the Lo-jack. Seated in the Big Blind, Mohamed El Mourabit was the sole caller.

El Mourabit check-called a 500 continuation bet from Hidalgo on the A93 flop. Both players then checked down the 2J runout.

El Mourabit tabled 109, which was good enough to take down the pot.

    Carlso Hidalgo: 55,500
    Mohamed El Mourabit: 42,000

  • Santos Takes From Pena

    Level 2:100/200 (200)
    Entries:126/129
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Already 129 entries on Level 2. Day 1b of the €150 Mini Main Event is on a similar pace to yesterday’s inaugural flight.

Kilin Csaba opened to 500 from UTG+1, and Antonio Pena made the call from the Cut-off. Brazilian Leo Santos then three-bet to 2,800 from the Big Blind, and both of his opponents made the call.

Action was checked to Pena on the 2J8 flop, and he bet 2,000. Santos made the call before Csaba mucked. Santos check-called a 5,000 bet from Pena on the K turn. Santos claimed the driver’s seat with a 6,500 bet on the 7 river, and Pena made the call.

Santos tabled AK for top pair, top kicker. Gracious in defeat, Pena showed his QJ holdings.

    Leo Santos: 52,000
    Antonio Pena: 24,000

The 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid is the eighth stop of the PartyPoker Tour, ever since it was founded in 2025. The Mini Main Event has been a recurring event on all the schedules, always being the most popular tournament in terms of entries. Day 1b of the €150 Mini Main Event is officially underway, with 86 brave contestants from the start.

One of the most recognizable names in the field from the get-go is Niall “Firaldo” Farrell. The Scottish poker legend is a PartyPoker Tour Ambassador, and now, he’s in Madrid, ready to compete for prestigious titles. During the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Seville, roughly one month ago, Firaldo finished eighth in the Mini Main Event. Perhaps, he’ll go even further this time.

  • Second Starting-Day flight of €150 Mini Main Event Highlights Tuesday’s Schedule

    Photo: Nunzia Esposito

It’s Tuesday, May 12, and the second day of the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid. Yesterday set the tone, with the biggest-ever starting-day flight of the €150 Mini Main Event. Three hundred nine entries were an insane number, and only time will tell how many contestants decide to tangle in Day 1b, which is the main course on today’s menu.

Apart from that, there are two satellites on the schedule, as well as Day 1c of the Mini Main Event, scheduled to commence at 21:00. One thing’s for sure: it’s going to be a busy day here at Casino Gran Via.

2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid – Tuesday May 12 Schedule

Spain’s Federico Mazzarella was the one who bagged the biggest in Day 1a, collecting 711,000 that he’ll be reunited with tomorrow at 19:00 when Day 2 kicks off. Yesterday’s flight wrapped up on Level 16; the Day 1b players should expect to finish around 2:00 tonight.

The poker.pro live reporter Christoffer Karlén will capture all the action from Day 1b here at the poker.pro live blog. Buckle up, ladies and gentlemen; the tournament is just about to kick off.

  • 2025 PartyPoker Player of the Year Alexander Georgiev Bags Big on Day 1a

    Alexander Georgiev (Photo: Nunzia Esposito)

Day 1a of the three-day PartyPoker Tour Madrid €150 Mini Main Event nearly crushed its guarantee on Day 1a alone with 309 entries already getting into the mix at Casino Gran Via. Spain’s Federico Estrada Mazzarella leads the way after parlaying his 40,000 opening stack into 711,000 with all 46 survivors already in the money to start Day 2 on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, 2025 PartyPoker Tour Player of the Year Alexander Georgiev is back making waves and is tied with the United Kingdom’s Edin Hrnjic with the second largest stack coming through Day 1a with 690,000. Check out the full chip counts below and stayed tuned for when coverage resumes for Day 1b on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

  • Hrnjic Eliminates Nieto; Play has Concluded

    Photo: Nunzia Esposito
    Level 17:5,000/10,000 (10,000)
    Entries:46/309
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

The board read 83Q5 with roughly 80,000 in the middle. Edin Hrnjic (Big Blind) had checked it over to Brazil’s Bernardo Nieto, who bet 65,000. Hrnjic made the call, and the dealer revealed the 4 river. Hrnjic checked again, and Nieto now moved all in for 107,000. After receiving the count, Hrnjic made the call relatively fast.

    Bernardo Nieto: KJ
    Edin Hrnjic: Q9

An utterly impressive call under immense pressure from Hrnjic was a fitting way to end Day 1a of the €150 Mini Main Event, considering he’s been having a top-five stack for as long as this poker.pro live reporter has seen. Nieto became the unfortunate bubble boy, and the remaining 46 players are now bagging their chips. They’ve all made Day 2, and they are all in the money.

That wraps up today’s live coverage from the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid. What a first day it was, with a record-breaking starting-day flight of the Mini Main Event. The blog will go live tomorrow at 16:00, when Day 1b kicks off. Before then, the Day 1a chip counts will be posted on the blog.

Thanks to everyone who’s been following along with today’s action, and we’ll see you all tomorrow.

    Edin Hrnjic: 690,000
    Bernardo Nieto: 0

PartyPoker Tour regular Deniz Orhan opened to 16,000 from UTG+1. Jesus Redondo made the call from the Big Blind.

Redondo check-called a 20,000 bet from Orhan on the A29 flop. Both players checked the 8 turn, and after another check from Redondo on the 5 river, Orhan nonchalantly bet 58,000. After a minute’s worth of pondering, Redondo made the call.

Orhan tabled KJ for the nuts, and Redondo paid up.

    Deniz Orhan: 248,000
    Jesus Redondo: 180,000

  • Garcia Doubles

    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Action folded to Ismael García, who open-shoved for 140,000 from the Cut-off. The sole PartyPoker Tour Ambassador left in the field, Daniel García, made the call from the Big Blind, playing 72,000.

    Ismael García: A7
    Daniel García: AQ

The board spelled out 3K1069, which saw Daniel García doubling up.

    Daniel García: 156,000
    Ismael García: 65,000

  • The Hrnjic Train Keeps on Rolling

    Level 15:3,000/6,000 (6,000)
    Entries:56/309
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Edin Hrnjic, who’s maintained a healthy stack throughout the day, opened to 15,000 UTG. Action folded to Julio Valencia, who moved all in for 93,000 on the Button. When action came back to Hrnjic, he made the call without hesitation.

    Julio Valencia: AQ
    Edin Hrnjic: 1010

It was a coin flip, but as seen so many times today, the pocket pair drew the longest straw, as the board spelled out J53K8. Valencia was eliminated in fifty-sixth place, and now, only 10 more will go before the remaining contestants can bag for Day 2.

    Edin Hrnjic: 412,000
    Julio Valencia: 0

  • Orhan And the Breakfast Salmon

    Level 15:3,000/6,000 (6,000)
    Entries:62/309
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Deniz Orhan is perhaps one of the most recognizable faces on the PartyPoker Tour. He has more or less attended all stops of the tour so far, and he’s been doing it in stellar fashion, winning multiple trophies, including the £500 Main Event during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester.

Orhan is still in Day 1a of the €150 Mini Main Event. This poker.pro live reporter just passed him by, and had to inspect what he was nibbling on in between his hands. It turned out to be the casino salmon, filled with various nutrients and vitamins. “My breakfast,” Orhan said as he noticed my gaze. Whether he was joking or not, we’ll never know.

  • De Diego Sees Off Wu

    Level 14:2,500/5,000 (5,000)
    Entries:69/309
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Action folded to Julio Valencia, who made it 12,000 from the Cut-off. Juan De Diego three-bet to 35,000 on the Button, and Daniel Wu wasted little time before going all in for 180,000 from the Small Blind. Valencia mucked before De Diego swiftly made the call.

    Daniel Wu: 99
    Juan De Diego: QQ

Wu was looking for help, but the J5KA3 board offered zero consolation. He was eliminated, and all of his chips went to De Diego.

    Juan De Diego: 395,000
    Daniel Wu: 0

  • Not According to Plan

    Level 14:2,500/5,000 (5,000)
    Entries:74/309
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Jose Romero opened to 12,000 from the Hi-jack. Seated in the Big Blind, Norway’s Hope Bjarte was the sole caller.

Both players checked the 2J7 flop, and the 9 turn. Bjarte stabbed the pot with a 12,000 bet on the 10 river, and Romero made the call.

Bjarte instantly threw his cards into the muck. Being a good sport, Romero showed the 10 before raking in the pot.

    José Romero: 198,000
    Hope Bjarte: 105,000

Like dominoes, they are falling. The number of players is dropping at a rapid pace.

2025 PartyPoker Tour Leaderboard winner Alexander “Wishiper96” Georgiev opened to 8,500 from the Hi-jack. Marcos Sanchez made the call from the Button, and Alejandro Paolini moved all in for 2,500 from the Small Blind. “Paparazzi” called from the Big Blind to close out the pre-flop action.

Action was checked to Georgiev, who continued for 7,000 on the KA8 flop. Sanchez and “Paparazzi” both made the call, and the dealer revealed the 7 turn. “Paparazzi” and Georgiev both checked before Paolini bet 25,000. His two opponents mucked (Georgiev flashing the A), and he was heads-up against Paolini.

    Alejandro Paolini: 104
    Marcos Sanchez: 77

Paolini was perhaps surprised that he was still alive. He became joyful as he improved to a flush on the 6 river to stay alive. He quadrupled up, while Sanchez took down the main pot.

    Alexander Georgiev: 245,000
    Marcos Sanchez: 165,000

  • Circus Poker

    Entries:116/309
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Angel Munoz min-raised to 6,000 UTG+1. Adrian Nagel then three-bet to 12,000 from the Lo-jack, before Julio Nieto four-bet to 18,000 from the Cut-off. The action didn’t stop there, seeing as Ahmed Abdella five-bet shoved for 79,000. Munoz folded before Nagel re-shoved for 84,000. This sent Nieto into the tank, but, eventually, he let his hand go.

    Ahmed Abdella: KK
    Adrian Nagel: AK

One must admit, it wasn’t the worst timing for Abdella to pick up the two red cowboys. He maintained his lead on the 52Q flop. Not much changed on the 4 turn, but the 3 saw Nagel improving to a straight, sending Abdella to the rail.

    Adrian Nagel: 205,000
    Julio Nieto: 160,000
    Ahmed Abdella: 0

Seated UTG, PartyPoker Tour Ambassador Rebecca Hardisty open-shoved for 35,500. Angel Munoz made the call from the Lo-jack, and the two were soon heads-up to the flop.

    Rebecca Hardisty: A9
    Angel Munoz: AQ

Hardisty was in rough shape, and she received no help on the 658K5 board. “I’m heading for the bar upstairs,” Hardisty enlightened this poker.pro live reporter as she exited the tournament area.

That means that Daniel Garcia is the only PartyPoker Tour Ambassador still in Day 1a of the €150 Mini Main Event.

    Angel Munoz: 195,000
    Daniel Garcia: 114,000
    Rebecca Hardisty: 0

  • Hearts Galore

    Entries:141/309
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Seated UTG, Oscar Calamonte open-shoved for 30,500. Action folded all the way to Cristóbal Aguilera in the Big Blind, who eventually decided to make the call.

    Oscar Calamonte: KQ
    Cristóbal Aguilera: K10

Calamonte was already ahead and improved his chances significantly on the 985 flop. The 6 saw him hitting the turn, but were the 7 to come on the river, it would be a chopped pot. The 4 was close, but no cigar, and Calamonte received a full double-up.

    Cristóbal Aguilera: 141,500

Seated in the Lo-jack, Ruben Soria open-shoved for 33,500. After a minute’s worth of pondering, José Bosquet also moved all in from the Button, playing what looked like a very equal stack.

    Ruben Soria: AQ
    José Bosquet: 1010

It was a flip, and the pocket pair of Bosquet stood the test of time on the 8K376 board. The dealer counted out the stacks, and Soria survived with coffee money.

    José Bosquet: 69,000
    Ruben Soria: 1,500

    Level 10:1,000/2,000 (2,000)

    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Play has resumed, and 309 entries have been confirmed in this record-breaking starting-day flight for the €150 Mini Main Event. Considering the tournament is playing down to 15%, it’s an educated guess that it will be 46 players who make it through to Day 2. However, this number needs to be confirmed by the tournament director.

Carmona tabled KJ. Segovia couldn’t beat it, but still decided to reveal his AQ holdings.

Orhan entered Day 1a of the €150 Mini Main Event here in Madrid just minutes ago. Two minutes later, he passed this poker.pro live reporter again, and said, “Well, that was quick.” Just like PartyPoker Tour Ambassador Daniel Garcia, Orhan lasted one hand before heading for the registration desk once again. Perhaps bullet number two will go better for him.

Ivan Pereira opened to 2,500 on the Lo-jack. Jesus Gutierrez three-bet to 7,600 from the Button, and Pereira made the call.

Pereira check-called a 6,500 bet from Gutierrez on the 10J7 flop. Pereira checked again on the 10 turn, and Gutierrez now sized up to 8,000. Pereira then moved all in for 26,000, and after sighing, Gutierrez made the call, playing just shy of 25,000.

    Ivan Pereira: AA
    Jesus Gutierrez: KK

Being a good sport, Gutierrez saluted his opponent on a nice hand. The Poker Gods didn’t care about the good gesture, and the 5 river saw all of Gutierrez’s chips go to Pereira.

    Ivan Pereira: 91,000

  • Picturesque Madrid Photos (by Nunzia Esposito)

During the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid, all players should expect to see Nunzia Esposito wandering around the tables. She is the superb photographer for the PartyPoker Tour, and earlier today, she and Giovanna De Falco (the tour’s videographer) were in central Madrid, capturing some iconic photos of the city and whatnot. Enjoy the pictures; all photos of players will also be uploaded here on the poker.pro live blog during the week.

    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Jose Valverde was chuckling and amusing the dealer, as he sorted the chips he had just won. A new hand began, and action folded to Valverde, who opened to 2,000. Seated in the Big Blind, Daniel Pardo was the sole caller.

Pardo check-called another 2,000 from Valverde on the 6510 flop. Another check from Pardo prompted a 4,000 bet from Valverde on the 7 turn, and, once again, Pardo decided to stick around. Both players then checked the Q river.

Pardo tabled 97, and Valverde acknowledged the winning hand, tabling his worthless A8.

    Jose Valverde: 58,000
    Daniel Pardo: 41,000

Seated UTG, Venezuelan Cristobal Aguilera min-raised to 2,000. Fernando Sedano then three-bet to 5,000 from UTG+1, just to be faced with a 30,000 four-bet from Mohamed El Mourabit in the Hi-jack. Action folded back to Aguilera, who also mucked, before Sedano moved all in for 44,500. El Mourabit, whose stack looked to be equal, made the call.

    Fernando Sedano: JJ
    Mohamed El Mourabit: AK

It was a classic coin flip confrontation, and this time, the fishhooks stood the test of time as the board spelled out 34QQ2. The dealer counted out the stacks, and it turned out that El Mourabit survived with one Small Blind.

    Fernando Sedano: 93,500
    Mohamed El Mourabit: 500

For the 2026 PartyPoker Tour, there are 10 Ambassadors, spreading the good word and good vibes of the tour. Two of them are currently in Day 1a of the €150 Mini Main Event.

Daniel Garcia is one of the two Spanish ambassadors (the other one is Bárbara Jiménez). Garcia won the €250 Mystery Bounty during the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Seville; the fact that he’s already been able to claim a major title during the tour is impressive. Here in Madrid, he wasn’t off to a stellar start, seeing as he busted the very first hand (overpair against his opponent’s flopped flush draw). He has re-entered, though, and is on tenth place in the waiting queue.

    Rebecca Hardisty. Photo: Nunzia Esposito

Rebecca Hardisty is the other ambassador currently in the tournament. She too has a trophy from the tour, as he won the £60 PLO Masters Saturday Party Madness Bounty during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Birmingham. She’s determined to capture another trophy in Madrid.

Hardisty is together with PartyPoker Team Pro Jaime Staples. Staples is already in Madrid, but has yet to make his way to Casino Gran Via.

Play has resumed after the 45-minute dinner break. This poker.pro live reporter had a Big Mac Meal.

Day 1a of the €150 Mini Main Event has currently registered 237 entries, with at least 20 players still on the waiting list and late registration open for another four levels. The biggest starting-day flight of this tournament historically before was Day 1a in Seville, roughly one month ago, with 228 entries. That has already been surpassed, and it wouldn’t be insane to guess that there will be close to 300 entries when late registration closes.

One player who has recently sat down is Alexander Georgiev. The Bulgarian is no stranger to the PartyPoker Tour. In fact, he won the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Leaderboard race, much thanks to claiming three trophies. He also started the 2026 PartyPoker Tour in good fashion, finishing second in the €150 Mini Main Event during the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Sheffield for £7,420. Now, he’s in Madrid, hoping to finish the Mini Main Event one place better.

Pérez check-called a 1,600 bet from García on the soaking wet 968 flop. Action repeated itself on the 10 turn, the only difference being that the sizing from García now was 3,600. Pérez checked for a third time on the 3 river, and then called a mere 1,000 from García.

García turned over JJ, and Perez threw his cards into the muck.

The board read 106Q with 16,000 in the middle. Aviv Cohen (Hi-jack) bet 10,000, and was called both by Alejandro Paolini (Cut-off) and “Paparazzi” (Button).

On the 2 turn, Cohen moved all in for his remaining 13,000. Paolini swiftly made the call before “Paparazzi” folded.

    Aviv Cohen: J9
    Alejandro Paolini: QQ

Cohen had a big draw, but he didn’t improve on the 10 river. Another one bit the dust, then, and Paolini added to his stack.

    Alejandro Paolini: 86,000
    Aviv Cohen: 0

Vakhtang Chikvinidze opened to 1,000 from the Hi-jack. Jonathan Gil (Small Blind) and Alberto Rodriguez (Big Blind) both made the call.

Action was checked to Chikvinidze on the AQ8 flop, who continued for 3,000. Gil mucked before Rodriguez made the call. Both players then checked the 9 turn, and the J river.

Rodriguez turned over A3, which was enough to take down the small pot.

    Alberto Rodriguez: 56,000
    Vakhtang Chikvinidze: 38,500

  • Roses for Roset

    Level 3:100/300 (300)
    Entries:170/186
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Enrique Roset opened to 1,000 UTG. Seated in the Hi-jack, Juan Castejon was the sole caller.

Castejon called a 1,000 continuation bet from Roset on the A76 flop. Action repeated itself on the K turn, the only difference being that Roset now sized up to 3,200. On the A turn, Roset used his 29,000 stack to force Castejon all in for 18,000. Castejon made the call fairly quickly.

Roset tabled AK for an absolute monster. A disappointed Castejon revealed K7 before leaving the table.

    Enrique Roset: 64,000
    Juan Castejon: 0

  • Cosma Reaching Cosmos

    Level 2:100/200 (200)
    Entries:144/149
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

Gaston Ghiglione opened to 500 from UTG+2. Big stack Bob Cosma made the call from the Button, and Francisco Utrera joined the fun from the Big Blind.

After an initial check from Utrera on the 5K10 flop, Ghiglione bet 1,000. Cosma made the call before Utrera swiftly mucked. The turn was the A. Ghiglione now checked, and Cosma bet 1,200. Ghiglione then raised to perhaps 5,000. Cosma wasted little time before forcing his opponent all in, and Ghiglione sighed as he made the call.

    Bob Cosma: QJ
    Gaston Ghiglione: 107

Not an ideal scenario for Ghiglione, and the K river couldn’t change anything. Ghiglione was eliminated, presumably heading for the re-entry desk. Cosma reached a six-digit stack and is most likely the current chip leader.

It’s going to take a while for Ghiglione to get back in, seeing as there are at least 30 players on the waiting list. The turnout is insane.

    Bob Cosma: 102,000
    Gaston Ghiglione: 0

  • The PartyPoker Brand Returns to Gran Via After Eight Years

    Level 2:100/200 (200)
    Entries:126/128
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

While this is, obviously, the first time the PartyPoker Tour visits Madrid and Casino Gran Via, it’s actually not the first time the PartyPoker brand has been apparent in Madrid’s finest card room. Back in 2018, the 2018 Spanish Poker Festival (SPF) Madrid National Presented by PartyPoker went down in this very venue. It was a 10-day festival with eight events, where the €300 Main Event arguably was the most prestigious tournament.

Three hundred fifty-six entries translated into a €92,000 prize pool. Federico Vitalli entered the final table as the chip leader, and he would eventually emerge victorious, claiming the €20,055 first-place prize.

Although not a purified PartyPoker event, and most certainly not a part of the PartyPoker Tour, it’s still a fun little nugget to mention.

Last year, PartyPoker made its much-anticipated return to the live poker scene, as the 2025 PartyPoker Tour was born. The tour consisted of five stops (all in the UK), and the successful first year is why the tour is expanding to Spain this year.

The first event was the 2025 PartyPoker Tour London, played at Genting Casino Stratford (back then, it was known as Aspers Casino). The festival featured 12 unique events, where the £150 Mini Main Event and the £500 Main Event were arguably the two most prestigious events.

The £150 Mini Main Event scored an impressive 866 entries, translating to a £109,200 prize pool. Local player Dost Ghrabie claimed the win, beating poker legend Will Kassouf heads-up and taking home £17,170.

The £500 Main Event got 491 entries, creating a £216,703 prize pool. The very experienced Getnet Kassa secured the win, earning himself £38,408.

The 2025 PartyPoker Tour London wasn’t the ordinary live poker festival. It was a statement from PartyPoker: the event hit it out of the park and set a standard for the remainder of the 2025 tour. Even though the inaugural event was a slam-dunk, PartyPoker continually improved leading up to each subsequent stop. Looking back at a great first year for the PartyPoker Tour, it’s safe to say the entity now has some meat on its bones, and the 2026 PartyPoker Madrid will be riding the wave.

Day 1a of the €150 Mini Main Event is off to a crazy start; the number of entries is going up by the minute, and this first starting-day flight is on a good pace, to say the least.

At Table 4, Ruben Garcia min-raised to 400 UTG. Many players were eager to see a flop; Mihai Boboc (UTG+1), Luis Garcia (Lo-jack), Efrain Castro (Hi-jack), Beka Amiranashvili (Button), and Moreta Leonardo (Small Blind) all made the call. The decision was now on Luis Diaz in the Big Blind, who pumped it up to 3,100. This scared some of the competition away, but Luis Garcia and Amiranashvili both made the call.

Diaz continued on the aggressive path with a 3,300 continuation bet on the 1072 flop. Garcia folded before Amiranashvili raised to 10,000. Diaz instantly relieved a heavy sigh before snap-folding. As Amiranashvili stacked his chips, Diaz met the gaze of this poker.pro live reporter, and his facial expression read, “What can you do?” I smiled.

In the end, it was Jaun Anguas who emerged victorious. He cashed for €9,770 after making a six-way (!) deal with the remaining five fellow Spanish opponents. Only time will tell who claims the title here in Madrid; a winner will be crowned on Thursday, May 14, after Day 3 concludes.

When the PartyPoker Tour debuted on Spanish soil in Seville roughly a month ago, Day 1a of the €150 Mini Main Event exceeded all expectations. It became the largest-ever starting-day flight of the popular tournament, scoring 228 entries. That is the number that Madrid is seeking to beat tonight; with 88 players already in, Madrid is on a good pace.

    Photo: Nunzia Esposito

Welcome, all, to the live blog for the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid. It’s a pleasure to have ya’ll here, and you’d better buckle up for seven days of intense poker action.

The 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid is the third stop of the tour this year; the first one was held in Sheffield in January, and roughly one month ago, the PartyPoker Tour touched Spanish soil for the first time ever, as Seville rolled out the red carpet.

Now, we’re in Madrid, and the stylish PartyPoker tables have been set up at Casino Gran Via. There’s a big week ahead, featuring tournaments such as the €500 Main Event, three poker.pro-branded Mixed Games tournaments, the €150 Mini Main Event, and much, much more.

The aforementioned Mini Main Event is the one tournament that will kick off the action. Day 1a will begin at 17:00, and it’s the first starting-day flight out of a total of four. The structure for this tournament (40,000 starting stack, 30-minute levels) is absolutely gold considering the shy buy-in. Each starting-day flight will play down to 15% of the field, until the remaining survivors can bag and tag for Day 2 (which will be played on Wednesday, May 13). At 22:00 tonight, there is also a €30 Target Stack Satellite for the Mini Main Event with three seats guaranteed.

Swedish poker.pro journalist/live reporter Christoffer Karlén arrived in Madrid yesterday, and is ready to cover every knook and cranny of the poker action at Casino Gran Via. Being the official English media partner of the PartyPoker Tour, the poker.pro editorial office is beyond excited to see some big moments unfold in the Spanish capital.

The poker.pro live blog will cover the Mini Main Event and the €500 Main Event. That being said, the results from all side events will also be published under the “Results” tab. All the photos of players (which will be taken by PartyPoker Tour photographer Nunzia Esposito) will also be uploaded to the blog, under the “Photos” tab.

Today’s live coverage will kick off at 17:00 when Day 1a of the Mini Main Event commences. In other words, it’s go time in roughly one hour. Brace yourself, Madrid: the PartyPoker Tour is here to bring the action.

Last year, PartyPoker made its much-anticipated return to the live poker scene, as the 2025 PartyPoker Tour was born. The tour consisted of five stops (all in the UK), and the successful first year is why the tour is expanding to Spain this year.

The second stop of the 2025 tour was held at the picturesque Manchester235 Casino in Manchester. The £500 Main Event attracted 257 entries, generating a £107,248 prize pool. Deniz Orhan managed to conquer the field, taking home £19,843 after making a deal. Orhan is also here in Madrid, and he bagged in yesterday’s Day 1a flight of the €150 Mini Main Event.

The £150 Mini Main Event in Manchester was claimed by Ion Oprea. He maneuvered his way through the field that consisted of 418 entries, ultimately claiming the £8,885 first-place prize, which was the biggest slice of the £52,710 prize pool. Oprea followed up his Mini Main Event win with a third-place finish in the Main Event.

    Entries:180/196
    Prizes:€63,125

Norwegian Espen Kristofferstuen must have opened UTG; however, in this poker.pro live reporter didn’t get the amount. What is a fact, though, is that Vladimir Melnic three-bet to 2,200 from the Button. Aldara Fernandez then made it 12,000 on the Big Blind and was faced with a 19,000 shove from Kristofferstuen. After Melnic mucked, Fernandez made the call faster than the speed of lightning.

    Espen Kristofferstuen: 77
    Aldara Fernandez: AA

Fernandez had picked up the goods, and no seven or any other shenanigans on the 2103JQ board. “Rebuy,” Kristofferstuen chuckled, after congratulating Fernandez on a nice hand.

    Aldara Fernandez: 58,000
    Espen Kristofferstuen: 0

Tomorrow, the €1,000 PLO Masters High Roller is one of the seven events on the schedule (including satellites). The PLO Masters is a series of PLO tournaments that runs in conjunction with the PartyPoker Tour. The founder of the PLO Masters, JJ Hazan, might come to Madrid himself and show the Spaniards how a real grandmaster plays four-card shenanigans.

• Hrnjic Eliminates Nieto; Play has Concluded

Action folded to Ismael García, who open-shoved for 140,000 from the Cut-off. The sole PartyPoker Tour Ambassador left in the field, Daniel García, made the call from the Big Blind, playing 72,000.

    Ismael García: A7
    Daniel García: AQ

The board spelled out 3K1069, which saw Daniel García doubling up.

    Daniel García: 156,000
    Ismael García: 65,000

Jose Romero opened to 12,000 from the Hi-jack. Seated in the Big Blind, Norway’s Hope Bjarte was the sole caller.

Both players checked the 2J7 flop, and the 9 turn. Bjarte stabbed the pot with a 12,000 bet on the 10 river, and Romero made the call.

Bjarte instantly threw his cards into the muck. Being a good sport, Romero showed the 10 before raking in the pot.

    Oscar Calamonte: KQ
    Cristóbal Aguilera: K10

Calamonte was already ahead and improved his chances significantly on the 985 flop. The 6 saw him hitting the turn, but were the 7 to come on the river, it would be a chopped pot. The 4 was close, but no cigar, and Calamonte received a full double-up.

    Ruben Soria: AQ
    José Bosquet: 1010

It was a flip, and the pocket pair of Bosquet stood the test of time on the 8K376 board. The dealer counted out the stacks, and Soria survived with coffee money.

    José Bosquet: 69,000
    Ruben Soria: 1,500

Play has resumed, and 309 entries have been confirmed in this record-breaking starting-day flight for the €150 Mini Main Event. Considering the tournament is playing down to 15%, it’s an educated guess that it will be 46 players who make it through to Day 2. However, this number needs to be confirmed by the tournament director.

Deniz Orhan has arrived at Gran Via Casino and is ready for the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid. Orhan won the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester £500 Main Event for £19,843, and finished second on the tour’s leaderboard.

  • Hot Weather, Cold Deck

    Level 8:600/1,200 (1,200)
    Entries:183/284
    Prizes:€50,000 GTD

    Jesus Gutierrez: 0

  • Picturesque Madrid Photos (by Nunzia Esposito)

During the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid, all players should expect to see Nunzia Esposito wandering around the tables. She is the superb photographer for the PartyPoker Tour, and earlier today, she and Giovanna De Falco (the tour’s videographer) were in central Madrid, capturing some iconic photos of the city and whatnot. Enjoy the pictures; all photos of players will also be uploaded here on the poker.pro live blog during the week.
