From Belfast Taxi Depots to Poker Trophies: Dr Angela Rogan’s Remarkable Return to the Tables

Angela Rogan There are poker origin stories, and then there is Dr Angela Rogan’s.
Long before poker tours, televised final tables, and online satellites, Angela was an 11-year-old girl sitting in a Belfast taxi depot waiting for a ride home. The taxis were delayed because the drivers were all playing poker.
So she joined them.
“I said, well, I might as well play then. I’ll have to wait till the game’s over.”
That was it. The beginning of a lifetime in poker.
Back then, the games were not Texas Hold’em. Angela remembers the old dealer’s choice formats: Railroad, Southern Cross, Big Heart Brag. Loose cash games played deep into the night inside Belfast taxi depots before poker exploded into the mainstream.
“I spent most of my teenage years in that taxi depot. I was there four nights a week with my bag of 10 pences and 20 pences. I just loved it.”
Poker Before the Boom
Angela was already grinding long before the poker boom transformed the game in the early 2000s.
When Hold’em finally arrived and poker clubs began appearing across the UK and Ireland, she quickly became a familiar face on the circuit. But there was one major difference between Angela and most of the players around her.
She was almost always the only woman in the room.
“I took a lot of abuse at the poker tables because there weren’t very many female poker players at the time.”
Some of the stories she tells feel almost unbelievable now. Men referring to their wives as “her indoors.” Explicit material being passed around tables during games. Constant questioning about why a woman would even want to play poker.
And yet she kept showing up.
“I find that one of the biggest changes now is that there’s an understanding that this isn’t acceptable anymore.”
That shift matters deeply to her. Returning to poker years later, she says the atmosphere feels transformed.
“The sexism is gone. That has really boosted my own confidence.”
Four Children Under Five… and Winning Anyway
Angela’s poker journey happened alongside motherhood, family life, and eventually academia.
At one point, she had four children under the age of five while still travelling around the UK and Ireland playing poker.

Angela Rogan. Photo: Nunzia Esposito “My husband went ballistic,” she laughs.
He struggled with the idea of her spending nights in poker clubs surrounded by men. Eventually, Angela taught him to play too, though poker would ultimately become part of a much bigger transformation in her life.
Today, she is remarried to what she describes as “a really great guy” who may not love poker himself but does love travelling with her.
And travel has become a huge part of her life.
The Academic Who Returned to Poker
One of the most striking things about Angela is the sheer scale of her achievements away from the tables.
After the devastating loss of her granddaughter in 2016, she decided to return to education and complete the degree she had never had the chance to do earlier in life.
She graduated with the highest results across the entire university.
Then came a fully funded master’s degree, followed by a PhD.
Today, Dr Angela Rogan lectures at Queen’s University Belfast in criminology, sociology, medical law, and statistical analysis.
“The only reason I teach statistical analysis is because nobody else wants to do it,” she jokes. “But I figure it’s good for poker.”
And poker, it turns out, never really left.
Once her PhD was completed and her children had grown up, Angela found herself drawn back to the game.
Now she is back on the live circuit — and cashing immediately.
“I’m only back playing and I already have over £10,000 in tournament cashes.”
Teaching the Next Generation
One of the most moving parts of Angela’s story is the relationship she now has with her 18-year-old son, whom she is teaching to play poker.
“The best way to teach him is to show him how to bring the trophies home.”
The results have been immediate.
At his very first Irish Poker Tour event, he finished sixth and won £3,500.
“He literally turned 18 a couple of weeks ago,” Angela says proudly.
Together they are now travelling the poker circuit as a family team, combining poker with travel, competition, and adventure.
Why PartyPoker Tour Appeals
Angela says one of the biggest draws of the PartyPoker Tour is accessibility.
“The buy-ins attracted me because my son is a novice.”
For newer players and recreational travellers, the tour creates a bridge between serious poker and a more welcoming live environment. And for Angela, the social aspect matters too.
“I’m recognising other women now. There’s a real sense of community.”
That community element is something she repeatedly returns to throughout our conversation. The ability to reconnect with familiar faces from stop to stop, city to city.
Malta Success and Madrid Ambitions
Angela arrived in Madrid for the PartyPoker Tour, powered by VibeLive, fresh off a successful trip to Malta, where she cashed the Main Event and won the Ladies Event trophy.
And she was not in Madrid simply to make up the numbers.
At the time we spoke, she was chip leader in the Mini Main Event.
“I feel very focused.”
It is difficult not to be swept up by her energy. She speaks with the confidence of someone who genuinely loves the game, not simply the results.
And perhaps that is why her story feels so compelling.
Poker for Angela was never just about money.
It became survival, independence, identity, travel, mathematics, community, and eventually reinvention.
From Belfast taxi depots to university lecture halls to live poker trophies across Europe, hers is the kind of story that reminds you why poker remains so endlessly fascinating.
Because sometimes the most remarkable people at the tables are the ones whose stories you would never expect.

Terry Plummer made the call from the Lo-jack before Leo Santos three-bet to 3,000 from the Small Blind. As if it wasn’t already intriguing enough, Javier Alvaro four-bet to 10,200 from the Big Blind. Back to Bromley, who wasted little time before five-bet shoving for 43,500. Plummer quickly got out of the way; Santos spent some time in the tank before mucking. Alvaro then immideately made the call.
Natalie Bromley: K♥K♦
Javier Alvaro: A♥K♣Not a nightmare scenario for Bromley, and no ace or any other shenanigans on the 3♠7♣8♥9♠2♠ flop. The PartyPoker Tour Ambassadors seem to be off to a good start in Day 1b of the €500 Main Event, seeing as Daniel Garcia trippled up the first hand just moments before Bromley’s big hand.

Lappin opened to 500 from UTG+1, and Atlan Sam decided to defend his Big Blind. Sam checked the 10♦2♦8♣ flop, and Lappin continued for 400. Sam then completed a check-raise move to 1,400, and Lappin made the call rather swiftly.
Action went check-check on the K♣ turn, 200. Sam bet very small on the Q♦ river, and Lappin made the call. Sam tabled J♣10♥ for the straight, and Lappin mucked.

Day 3 Will See a Winner Being Crowned

Joe Beevers. Photo: Nunzia Esposito Level 26: 40,000/80,000 (80,000) Entries: 27/918 Prizes: €114,750 It’s the fourth day of the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Madrid, and it’s going to be a big one. While the €500 Main Event will kick off with its first starting-day flights, accompanied by a few side events on the schedule, the final day of the €150 Mini Main Event has to be considered the star of the show.
What a tournament this has been thus far. Nine hundred eighty-eight entries have created a €114,750 prize pool; more than double the €50,000 guarantee. Day 1a broke the record (309 entries), becoming the biggest-ever starting-day flight of the tournament that has been a part of all PartyPoker Tour Stops. The record stood for 24 hours before Day 1b registered 314 entries. Coming close to 1,000 entries in total, the tournament is proof not only that the Spanish live poker scene is hot and heavy, but also that the PartyPoker Tour has come a long way, establishing itself as a one-of-a-kind live poker circuit in just a year and a half.
Day 3 will kick off at 19:00, with 27 players returning. Spaniard Kevin Lezcano has earned himself the best presumptions for a deep run, beginning the final day as the chip leader with 3,000,000. It won’t be a walk in the park, though; 2025 PartyPoker Tour Leaderboard winner Alexander “Wishiper96” Georgiev also has a very healthy stack, as is the case with the UK’s Edin Hrnjic. During the 2026 PartyPoker Tour Sheffield in January, Georgiev finished second, and Hrnjic finished third; they’re both out for redemption.
PartyPoker Tour Ambassador/poker legend Joe Beevers is also still in the mix. During Blinds 25,000/50,000, Beevers was down to 30,000. Two hands later, he had 560,000. Entering Day 3 with 10 Big Blinds, there is at least some wiggle room for “The Elegance” to work with.

Antonio Munoz: 3♠3♣
Sergio Marquez: A♦K♥Marquez took a firm lead on the K♦5♠2♠ flop, and as the board completed with 5♥8♥, Munoz was eliminated in thirty-second place for €575.

Aldara Fernandez: J♦J♠
Bruno Vilela: A♠K♦Fernandez wasn’t thrilled to see the K♣ in the window, but as the full K♣Q♣J♥ flop revealed itself, things were looking brighter. Viela didn’t catch up on the 8♣2♠ runout, and Fernandez received the full double-up.

This Isn’t His First Rodeo

PartyPoker Tour Ambassador Joe Beevers is still in the €500 Main Event. Photo: Nunzia Esposito Level 24: 25,000/50,000 (50,000) Entries: 36/918 Prizes: €114,750 PartyPoker Tour Ambassador/poker legend Joe Beevers was down to less than one Big Blind. He moved all in for 30,000 UTG+2, and Mykhaylo Hrytsyk attempted to limp the 50,000 Big Blind from the Small Blind. Dwayne Ofoeme wouldn’t allow it; he made it 175,000 from the Big Blind. Krytsyk folded, and Beevers were heads-up against Ofoeme.
Joe Beevers: Q♣10♥
Dwayne Ofoeme: A♦8♣Ofoeme was slightly ahead, but it was Beevers who took the lead on the 10♦6♠4♠ flop. He sealed the deal on the Q♦ turn, and after the pointless 5♦, he could rake in the chips after a triple-up.
The very next hand, Beevers open-shoved 140,000 from UTG+2. Angela Rogan made the call from the Hi-jack, and Ofoeme called from the Small Blind. Action went check-check on the 2♥3♠2♣ flop, and on the 8♣ turn. Ofoeme check-folded to a 50,000 bet from Rogan on the 6♠ river.
“I’ve got a full house,” Beevers said as he tabled 3♥3♦. Rogan couldn’t beat it, and Beevers went from 30,000 to 525,000 in only two hands.
Joe Beevers: 525,000

Georgiev Claims Chip Lead

Alexander Georgiev. Photo: Nunzia Esposito Level 21: 10,000/25,000 (25,000) Entries: 47/918 Prizes: €114,750 Alfredo Albornoz, who started Day 2 as the chip leader, opened to 50,000 UTG. 2025 PartyPoker Tour Leaderboard winner Alexander “Wishiper96” Georgiev made the call from the Lo-jack before Miguel Rodriguez moved all in for roughly 300,000 from the Big Blind. Albornoz made the call before Georgiev forced him all in for 700,000. Albornoz made the call, and what was probably the biggest pot of the tournament was about to unfold.
Miguel Rodriguez: A♦2♦
Alfredo Albornoz: K♦Q♥
Alexander Georgiev: A♣J♥This was a big one, and ace high was still good for Georgiev on the 2♣7♣9♦ flop. The K♣ turn saw Albornoz claiming the driver’s seat, but the 3♣ ultimately saw Georgiev securing the ridiculously large pot, sending two players to the rail and claiming the chip lead.

Level 18: 6,000/12,000 (12,000) Entries: 72/918 Prizes: €114,750 Sergio Piedra made it 27,000 on the Button. Catalin Tini made the call from the Small Blind.

Blasillo Bubbles; Play has Concluded
Level 17: 5,000/10,000 (10,000) Entries: 47/314 Prizes: €96,500 The board read 8♦10♠7♣5♦4♥ with roughly 200,000 in the middle. German Fred Wulff (Small Blind) forced Luis Blasillo all in for 74,000 on the river. Blasillo spent some time in the tank, and eventually, another played called the clock on him. With 10 seconds left on the countdown, he made the call.
Fred Wulff: 5♠5♥
Luis Blasillo: 9♣9♥A set was enough for Wulff to claim the pot, and doing so, sending Blasillo to the rail. As such, Basillo became the unfortunate bubble boy, and the remaining 47 players can now bag their chips. They will return tomorrow for Day 2, which kicks off at 19:00. Before then, it’s Day 1d, the final starting-day flight of the €150 Mini Main Event.
That wraps up today’s live coverage here on poker.pro. With its 314 entries, Day 1b became the largest-ever starting-day flight of this flagship tournament of the PartyPoker Tour. The poker.pro editorial office will return with the Day 1b and Day 1c chip counts shortly. Tomorrow’s live blog will kick off at 19:00 when Day 2 commences; see ya’ll then.
Fred Wulff: 760,000

Making Moves
Level 16: 4,000/8,000 (8,000) Entries: 52/314 Prizes: €96,500 Jose Costa opened to 18,000 on the Button, and Vladimir Melnic defended his Big Blind.
First to act, Melnic checked the royal flush-friendly J♣K♣9♣ flop. Costa bet 21,000, and after taking a close look at his opponent’s stack, Melnic forced his opponent all in for 137,000 in total. Costa spent a minute or two contemplating his decision, before folding. As the dealer pushed the chips Melnic’s way, Melnic revealed his 10♦8♣ holdings. What a play!
Vladimir Melnic: 520,000
Jose Costa: 116,000 -
Garcia Living the Dream
Level 15: 3,000/6,000 (6,000) Entries: 52/314 Prizes: €96,500 Action folded to Fernando Ruiz in the Cut-off, who open-shoved for 112,000. Juanjue Chen then re-shoved for roughly 150,000 in the Small Blind. The decision was now on Adoracion Garcia in the Big Blind who peeked at his holdings, then made the easiest call of his life.
Fernando Ruiz: 3♦3♣
Juanjue Chen: A♠K♥
Adoracion Garcia: A♥A♦Chen was flaggergasted, to say the least, when she saw Garcia’s holdings. Aces were unthreathened as the board spelled out 7♠5♦J♣5♣6♦, and Garcia scored a double knock-out and improved his stack significantly.
Adoracion Garcia: 540,000
Juanjue Chen: 0
Fernando Ruiz: 0 -
Pardo(n) Me
Level 15: 3,000/6,000 (6,000) Entries: 58/314 Prizes: €96,500 After a UTG-limp by Marco Ceci, Jose Del Olmo three-bet to 32,000. Action eventually came to Daniel Pardo, who moved all in for 112,000. Ceci folded, and Del Olmo spent some time contemplating his decision before, ultimately, making the call.
Daniel Pardo: K♥K♠
Jose Del Olmo: A♠Q♥Pardo was ahead with his cowboys, and he maintained his lead on the 10♠6♠7♣ flop. Poker can be a brutal game at times, though; Del Olmo connected well with the A♥ on the turn, and the 6♥ river ultimately sealed the deal. Unfortunate for Pardo, who busted roughly 10 places away from Day 2.
Jose Del Olmo: 295,000
Daniel Pardo: 0 -
Quite the Interesting Hand
Level 14: 2,500/5,000 (5,000) Entries: 63/314 Prizes: €95,625 Seated UTG+1, Luis Blasillo min-raised to 10,000. Vladimir Melnic three-bet to 32,000 on the Button, and Blasillo made the call.
The flop was 2♣Q♣5♣, and Blasillo check-called another 32,000 from Melnic. After another Blasillo-check on the 8♦ turn, Melnic moved all in for his last 150,000. This sent Blasillo into the tank. After perhaps three minutes’ worth of pondering, he made the call.
Vladimir Melnic: J♣J♦
Luis Blasillo: 9♠9♥Melnic did not look too confident when he turned over his hand. Blasillo looked kind of surprised over his opponent’s hand, and as he revealed his holdings, Melnic was more comfortable. Nothing changed on the 10♦ river, and Melnic won a very considerable pot.
Vladimir Melnic: 440,500
Luis Blasillo: 220,000 -
Murphy’s Law
Level 14: 2,5000/5,000 (5,000) Entries: 67/314 Prizes: €95,625 Seated UTG, Jose Murphy opened to 50,000, leaving himself with 10,000 behind. Jesus Gonzalez (Lo-jack) was the sole caller.
Murphy checked the 7♣A♥6♠ flop, and Gonzalez wasted little time before putting his opponent all in for two Big Blinds. Murphy sighed, but realized he had to make the call at this point.
Jesus Gonzalez: A♦K♣
Jose Murphy: 5♥5♦Murphy was looking for a miracle, but it was nowhere to be found on the 2♣4♦ runout. He bid farewell, and the number of entries is decreasing at a rapid pace. Reminder that 46 players will advance to Day 2.
Jesus Gonzalez: 525,000

Beevers Still in the Mix

PartyPoker Tour Ambassador Joe Beevers is still in the €150 Mini Main Event. Photo: Nunzia Esposito Level 14: 2,5000/5,000 (5,000) Entries: 75/314 Prizes: €93,250 PartyPoker Tour Ambassador/poker legend Joe “The Elegance” Beevers is still in Day 1b of the €150 Mini Main Event, looking to become the second ambassador to advance to Day 2 (after Daniel Garcia bagged in yesterday’s Day 1a).
Yet another PartyPoker Tour Ambassador/poker legend, Barny Boatman, arrived today. He hasn’t registered for any tournament yet; perhaps he’ll take his shot at Day 1d tomorrow.

Chop it up
Level 13: 3,000/4,000 (4,000) Entries: 81/314 Prizes: €92,375 Big-stacked Vladimir Melnic opened to an unconventional 13,500 from the Lo-jack. Daniel Dykstra (Small Blind) and Jonathan Marinier (Big Blind) both made the call.
Dykstra and Marinier both checked it over to Melnic on the Q♣A♠5♥ flop, who continued for 16,500. Dykstra folded before Marinier made the call. Marinier then proceeded by check-calling a 33,000 bet from Melnic on the 2♠ turn, leaving himself with 47,000 behind. Another check from Marinier on the Q♦ river, and he was then forced all in by Melnic. Marinier snap-called.

Level 12: 1,500/3,000 (3,000) Entries: 102/314 Prizes: €89,125 Francisco Utrera opened to 8,000 from the Cut-off. Estonia’s Dmitri Dudakov (Big Blind) then forced Utrera all in for 73,000. After twisting and turning in his chair for a minute, Utrera made the call.
Dmitri Dudakov: A♣K♥
Francisco Utrera: 9♠9♣It was a classic coin flip confrontation, but Utrera took a solid lead on the 8♥10♣9♥ flop. The A♠Q♠ didn’t help Dudakov, and Utrera received a full double-up just before the table broke.

Action was checked to Merayo on the 3♣5♠2♣ flop, and he bet 7,500. Cioca made the call, and the two contestants then checked down the K♦7♣ runout.
Cioca’s body language signaled, “Sorry,” as he tabled 7♠7♦ for a rivered set. Merayo confirmed that Cioca indeed got there on the river, as he revealed his 10♥10♦ holdings.

Back in the Saddle
Level 11: 1,500/3,000 (3,000) Entries: 141/314 Prizes: €87,125 Play has resumed after the 40-minute dinner break. In fact, one whole 30-minute level has passed; apologies for the lack of updates, but the poker.pro editorial office is experiencing some technical issues.
Nevertheless, late registration has closed. Yesterday’s Day 1a flight became the biggest-ever starting-day flight of the €150 Mini Main Event in the PartyPoker Tour’s one-and-a-half-year-long history. The record lasted 24 hours; 314 entries in Day 1b means that this is now the new biggest flight of this flagship tournament.
Considering all starting-day flights are playing down to 15% of the field, 47 players will make it through to Day 2. Reminder that Day 1a ended on Level 16.
In other news, Day 1c kicked off roughly one hour ago. It’s currently on Level 3 with 74 entries. One notable name in that one is PartyPoker Tour Ambassador Rebecca Hardisty.

Oh, the Pain!

PartyPoker Tour Ambassador/poker legend Niall “Firaldo” Farrell interviewing poker.pro journalist Christoffer Karlén; shouldn’t it be the other way around? Photo: Nunzia Esposito Level 9: 800/1,600 (1,600) Entries: 168/309 Prizes: €81,750 The last hand before the dinner break, action folded to PartyPoker Tour Ambassador Niall “Firaldo” Farrell, who opened to 3,100 from UTG+1. “No, no, NO!” he shouted in panic as Olivian Vadean made the call from the Big Blind.
Vadean check-called a 3,000 continuation bet from Firaldo on the 6♦4♠10♥ flop. Action went check-check on the 5♠ turn, before Vadean bet 7,500 on the 6♥ river. Firaldo sighed as he mucked his hand.
“Did you bluff me?” Firaldo asked his opponent.
“No,” Vadean answered.
“For sure?” Firaldo continued. At this point, Vadean decided to reveal his Q♠7♠ holdings for a missed flush draw.
“No!” Firaldo let out a cry that everyone at Casino Gran Via could hear. “I love it!” he continued, saluting his opponent’s play.
The players are now heading for a 40-minute dinner break. There are currently 309 entries in Day 1b; exactly as many as yesterday, which is the biggest-ever starting-day flight of the €150 Mini Main Event during the PartyPoker Tour’s year-and-a-half-long history.

Jose Cantu: A♦7♠
Antonio Munoz: A♣Q♣Cantu was in rough shape, and the 8♥J♦3♠K♠6♥ board didn’t provide any help. All his chips went to Munoz, and time will tell whether Cantu decided to re-enter Day 1b.

Trip Down Memory Lane: The 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester

Deniz Orhan, winner of the £500 Main Event during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester. Photo: Nunzia Esposito Last year, PartyPoker made its much-anticipated return to the live poker scene, as the 2025 PartyPoker Tour was born. The tour consisted of five stops (all in the UK), and the successful first year is why the tour is expanding to Spain this year.
The second stop of the 2025 tour was held at the picturesque Manchester235 Casino in Manchester. The £500 Main Event attracted 257 entries, generating a £107,248 prize pool. Deniz Orhan managed to conquer the field, taking home £19,843 after making a deal. Orhan is also here in Madrid, and he bagged in yesterday’s Day 1a flight of the €150 Mini Main Event.
The £150 Mini Main Event in Manchester was claimed by Ion Oprea. He maneuvered his way through the field that consisted of 418 entries, ultimately claiming the £8,885 first-place prize, which was the biggest slice of the £52,710 prize pool. Oprea followed up his Mini Main Event win with a third-place finish in the Main Event.

Another Record Set
Level 7: 500/1,000 (1,000) Entries: 198/268 Prizes: €72,250 Yesterday’s Day 1a flight of the €150 Mini Main Event set a record, becoming the biggest-ever starting day flight of the PartyPoker Tour trademark tournament with 309 entries. Day 1b currently sits on 268, making it the biggest-ever Day 1b flight in the tour’s year-and-a-half-long history. With almost two hours left of late registration, Day 1b could potentially surpass yesterday’s flight and set a new all-time record.

Perhaps this time will be different.

Steffan Stroffek is one of the most recent players to sit down. Stroffek is a familiar face on the PartyPoker Tour; he cashed at every stop in 2025 and even claimed a trophy during the 2025 PartyPoker Tour Manchester, as he won the £50 Mystery Prize.

Level 4: 200/400 (400) Entries: 178/206 Prizes: €64,375 Kristian Aksnes opened to 1,000 UTG. Mohamed El Mourabit made the call from UTG+2, and so did Zhijun Shen from the Big Blind.
Action was checked to El Mourabit on the 5♣10♥2♦ flop, and he bet 1,500. Shen made the call before Aksnes completed a check-raise move to 5,100. El Mourabit then shoved for roughly 30,000. Shen mucked before Aksnes snap-called for his tournament life, playing 28,000.

Fernandez Picks up the Goods
Level 3: 100/300 (300) Entries: 180/196 Prizes: €63,125 Norwegian Espen Kristofferstuen must have opened UTG; however, in this poker.pro live reporter didn’t get the amount. What is a fact, though, is that Vladimir Melnic three-bet to 2,200 from the Button. Aldara Fernandez then made it 12,000 on the Big Blind and was faced with a 19,000 shove from Kristofferstuen. After Melnic mucked, Fernandez made the call faster than the speed of lightning.
Espen Kristofferstuen: 7♥7♠
Aldara Fernandez: A♦A♠Fernandez had picked up the goods, and no seven or any other shenanigans on the 2♥10♠3♠J♣Q♣ board. “Rebuy,” Kristofferstuen chuckled, after congratulating Fernandez on a nice hand.

Manuel Huerta moved all in for 248,000 from the Small Blind, and after a re-shove from Mykhaylo Hrytsyk in the Big Blind for just shy of 400,000, Rogan mucked.
Manuel Huerta: 7♠7♣
Mykhaylo Hrytsyk: K♦K♣The 5♠8♠10♦2♦2♥ board offered a smooth runout for the cowboys, and Huerta went out in sixty-first place for €400.

A Brutal Game
Level 18: 6,000/12,000 (12,000) Entries: 72/918 Prizes: €114,750 Sergio Piedra made it 27,000 on the Button. Catalin Tini made the call from the Small Blind.
Tini donk-bet 30,000 on the 8♥6♠2♦ flop. Piedra raised his opponent to 75,000, and Tini wasted little time before forcing Piedra all in for perhaps 300,000 in total. Piedra snap-called.
Catalin Tini: Q♦6♦
Sergio Piedra: A♠A♣Piedra was well ahead with the goods, but poker can be a brutal game at times. Piedra may have maintained his lead on the 4♠ turn, but the brutal 6♥ river saw him bidding farewell in seventy-third place for €350.

The Coin has Been Flipped
Francisco Utrera: 150,500
Dmitri Dudakov: 60,000 -
Pots Are Getting Significant
Level 11: 1,500/2,500 (2,500) Entries: 134/314 Prizes: €87,125 Juan Neira opened to 5,500 UTG. David Merayo made the call from UTG+2, and Adrian Cioca joined in on the fun from the Big Blind.
David Merayo: 171,000
Adrian Cioca: 88,000 -
Back in the Saddle

Olivian Vadean: 101,000

Level 9: 800/1,600 (1,600) Entries: 187/306 Prizes: €78,750 Antonio Munoz decided to limp the 1,600 Big Blind from UTG+2. Action folded all the way to Jose Cantu, who moved all in for 27,700 from the Big Blind. Munoz snap-called.
Antonio Munoz: 69,000

After an initial check from Gonzalez, Del Olmo bet 4,600 on the 9♣8♠6♣ flop. Balana then raised to 15,000; Gonzalez folded before Del Olmo made the call.
Both contestants checked the K♦ turn. On the K♥ river, Del Olmo forced Balana all in for 25,800. Balana made the call fairly swiftly.
